Chapter 1

[Celeste's Pov]

It's been 3 years since my parent's death and the day when Lara found me and Jaiden. Right now I am 15 years old and Jaiden is 8 years old. But that's not all, this world got a whole lot serious. The hatred for the hunters towards the supernaturals is getting more stronger.

Some people are calling this the "Destruction Era" because of the hunters. They are bringing the destruction of the supernatural. But supernaturals are pretty strong, this is going to be a serious fight.

"Um...Celeste?" Someone tapped my shoulder. The tap woke me up from my daze.

I looked over to see who tapped me. The person who tapped me is named Luna. I knew her since the beginning of High School. I am in the 10th grade now, so I encountered her since last year, in the 9th grade.

"S-Sorry, I was just in my thoughts," I told her rubbing the back of my neck. She stared at me then said, "Ok then".

She started to walk ahead of me. We both just came out of school now walking back home. I walked quickly to catch up to her.

"Hey Luna, Wanna go to the library later?" I asked her. She looked at me wondering why I told her. "Is there a reason why?" She questioned me.

I stared at her for quite a while. Luna was that type of person to question someone after them questioning her. I knew luna long enough to know that things are a little weird about her. But I didn't care, as long she was my friend, it was ok.

She puts her hands up in defeat, "No worries, I will go with you". I smiled at her. It's always good to get the things you want. "Ok Great! See you later!" I said then ran towards my house.

I reached home and open the door to see no one is here.

Hmm... seems like everyone is still at school and Lara probably went out.

I ran up to my room to start my homework. Don't you just hate when teachers give you so much homework? Life is just getting harder and harder.

After I finished my homework, I changed my clothes and ran downstairs to leave. When I did that, I saw Jaiden coming inside the house.

"Hey Jaiden" I opened my arms out and he came and jumped into my arms. He looked up to look at me. "Celeste!" He squealed. I laugh and ruffled his hair. "How was school?"I asked him while taking off his coat.

He smiled at me and said: "It was good-" Suddenly He started coughing vigorously. For the past years, Jaiden has gotten some type of sickness. We went to multiple doctors and none of them seems to find the cause of Jaiden's Sickness.

I don't even think the doctors are even trying hard. Like an 8-year-old is in a serious condition and they don't even try to go into the sickness and try to figure out what it is.

I was in a panic. I saw many of this happen to Jaiden, but Lara was the one to take care of it. I felt his forehead to see if have a fever, but his forehead was Burning. "Jaiden, Wait right here" I laid him down on the couch and ran to get a wet towel to put on his burning forehead.

Once I went back to where he was, he already fainted. I quickly carried him up to his room and laid him down on his bed and put the wet towel on his Forehead.

Argh... When is Lara going to get here?

I quickly called Luna to tell her I wasn't going to the library. But once I was going to hit the call button, the doorbell rang.

I was going to answer until I thought that I didn't want to leave Jaiden by himself. I patted his head and went quickly downstairs to answer the door.

I opened the door and I was shocked. "Hey" Luna waved at me. I blinked twice. "U-Umm" I stuttered. Ok now, something is up. Did she know I was going to call her? Did she know that I wasn't going to the library anymore? So many questions are going through my head.

"So, you're not going to invite me in?" She said to me. Well since she is already here, I moved out of her way so she could come inside.

I showed her the way to the living room and we sat down. "So, what's up?" She asked me. I looked down at my lap and fiddled my fingers. Luna doesn't know about Jaiden's unknown sickness. I think she would respect me not telling her.

"Hey Celeste, what is this for?" I turned around to see Luna pushing a button on the bookshelf. Once she pressed it, there was a stairway leading down. I walked next to her to see it more clearly.

I looked down and the stairs are far down. "Wanna go down?" She said while pointing down the stairs. I looked at her crazy. Jaiden is still upstairs and I need to get back to him. Unexpectedly she grabbed my wrist and was started to walk down the stairs.

In my head, I was going crazy. What if I wasn't supposed to go down here?

The walk downstairs was long but we finally reached. All we saw was a round table in the middle with a book. We both looked at each other.

The place was very dusty and it was hard to breathe. Eventually, we walked over to the round table to see the book. The book looked old and it is also dirty. Should we open it or not?

Luna started to open the book slowly.

DON'T

A voice in my head let out. I was confused about who said it.

Once luna opened the book fully, there was a very bright light almost blinding our eyes. Soon after we end up passing out.

I was in a dark room with nothing in it. Abruptly there was a very bright red color that shined before my eyes. I couldn't see it very clearly, it was like a blob of red.

The red blob color started to come closer. So close that I started hearing growls. The growls started to become louder until the red blob jumped on me.

I woke up quickly and started to cough. I tried to bring my hands to my lap but it wasn't moving. I turned around to see my hands is wrapped around a rope. Then look around to see that i am in an Alleyway.

I looked next to me seeing luna in the same condition as i was, but her face seems unfazed.

"Well look who woke up" I quickly turned my head to the voice who said that. It was a man but most importantly, a Hunter.

I glared at him and he did the same to me. "How did we get here? I asked him. I needed answers. Jaiden is at home by himself and he is still sick.

"You don't need to know that" Another man came eating chips. Is this guy seriously eat chips at a time like this? I was dumbfounded by what this guy is doing. "What! I am hungry" he started to eat more chips.

Luna tapped my arm and forward her head on top of the building across. I looked on top of the building to see a boy with a black hoodie covering his eyes. He put his fingers on his lips basically telling us to be silent.

"Who you guys looking at?" Before the hunters turned around, the guy in the black hoodie jumped down the building and chopped the hunters in the back of their necks with fast speed.

The hunter's eyes rolled into the back of their heads and fell down. Then the guy in the black hoodie put his hands in his pocket.

Then I and luna both saw a hand on his shoulders. Coming out from the dark, the person was...

LARA!?!

Lara patted his shoulders then glared at me hard. I looked at luna for help, but to find out she wasn't here. When did she leave? That slick and sneaky girl!

I looked back at Lara...

Well, I'm about to get a serious scolding of my life.
