Chapter 3:
Getting along are we?
"Barty Crouch is here to tell you all a the rules of the tri-wizard tournament." Dumbledore says as the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang sit down.
Barty enters and begins to speak.
"The ministry and I have decided nobody under the age of seventeen will be allowed to compete in the tri-wizard tournament." He says.
"That's not fair." I say to Blaise.
"I know. You'd of been great in it!" He replys.
"Well, I know that!" I say boastfully, but joking of course.
After all the arguing and talking has finished, we finish the feast and head back to the common room. I sit for a while with Blaise, before Parkinson and Draco enter.
"Everybody out, except you Jenkins!" Parkinson says.
Everybody leaves, mostly to their dorms, some to the great hall for a last minute snack, some just for a walk. Blaise gives me a stern look, like one my big brother would give me, before leaving to his dorm.
"What do you want piggy?" I say to Parkinson.
"Its not what I want, it's what Draco wants."
"I want a word!" He replys.
"Alright. But I don't want that here while we speak." I say looking Pansy up and down.
"Pansy, out." He says.
That was a shock. I never thought I'd see the day that Draco Malfoy actually did something I wanted.
"Right, what do you want?" I say stubbornly.
"To talk. Come on a walk with me?" He asks.
Well this is new. And what's even newer, is that I actually say yes!
"So, what did you want to talk about?" I ask as we reach the black lake.
"I just wanted to ask you something." He replys.
"Which is?"
"Why do we hate eachother? I mean, both of our parents are death eaters, were both followers of the dark lord, we both hate muggles, were so alike. I don't know why we hate eachother." Draco says.
It shocks me. It shocks me a lot. It's weird hearing him say that. I mean, I hate him because he's full of himself, but that's it.
"I don't know Draco. I honestly don't know." I reply, feeling a little bad.
"I know it's not like me, I mean this, who your talking to now, just isn't properly me. I mean it is but, oh you get me!" He says.
What is this boy actually causing me? I'm so confused.
"Yeah, Draco I've got to go." I say, getting away from the awkwardness.
I walk away, expecting to be followed by him. But I'm not. He just sits by the lake, skipping rocks along the surface. I feel bad, really bad, so I decide to stay.
"On second thoughts, I'm going to stay. It can wait till the morning." I smile.
My feelings for this boy are changing. Friends, no longer enemies.
"Amber, you know...the dark lord?" He asks.
"Of course I do."
"Well, he wants someone to take part in the tri-wizard tournament, he's getting Madeye aka Barty Crouch Jr to enter his name." He smirks.
