"I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave. It's closing time."
Michael and Kate pulled back immediately, Kate could feel the awkwardness setting in. "Yeah alright" Michael smiled at the lady but it was obvious he was pissed. "Shall we?" Michael held his hand out for Kate causing her to laugh a little. "we shall" They walked out of the restaurant hand in hand he opened the door for her and got in. "Look at you being Mr. Romantic"
"If you tell anybody about this especially the guys I'll kill you" Michael said and laughed towards the end.
"Wow Mr. Romantic to a murderer in .2 seconds. Girls really love that."
They both laughed before it could get awkward again and Kate turned the radio on.
"This kiss this kiss" She desperately changed the station.
"So kiss me kiss me"
"Even when I'm not with Luke I still hear his voice" Michael complained
Kate laughed which caused Michael to glare at her. She raised her hands in surrender as he changed the station.
"I just wanna kiss you"
"Maybe we should forget the radio" Kate sighed feeling it get awkward again.
"I think there is a cd in there if you want to try it?" Michael offered not wanting Kate to be embarrassed.
"SAY IT AINT SO I WILL NOT GO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF CARRY ME HOME" Michael and Kate sang/yelled together.

A few minutes later they pulled up at the apartment complex  sat there for a few seconds. "Uhh I'm not good with this stuff" Michael said and nervously scratched his neck.
They both laughed nervously "Yeah me either" Kate agreed.
"So I'll see you later yea?" Michael said and immediately regretted it.
"yea" Kate agreed not knowing what else to say. There was obviously a lot of tension between them since the restaraunt inccident. Kate walked in and frowned at how quiet it was. She wondered how things were going with Natalie.

The next morning Kate heard a banging on the door and sighed she figured Nat forgot her key again. When she answered the door she was shocked to see her mom standing there. "Mom what are you doing here?"
"What a mother can't visit her daughter? I wanted to talk to you actually."
"OK come in. Do you want something to drink or eat?"
"No, I'm fine."
"So I got you an interview for a job at the library."
"Why would you do that?"
"Kate you can't play videogames for a living, It's not a real job."
"If it's not a real job how come it pays me?"
That seemed to shut her up, but it was obvious she was furious. "Look you can't come to my house and insult me and my job"
"Kate I'm trying to help you be successful."
"I am successful" Kate replied angrily
"Having so many subscribers doesn't make you successful"
"Atleast they don't insult my job" Silence filled the room
"Do I embarrass you?" Kate asked dreading the answer.
After a moment of silence it was obvious what her answer was. "Get out" "what?" "I SAID GET OUT"

Kate's mom never liked how much time she spent playing video games when she was a kid. She wanted her to be like all the other girls her age. Kate hated half of her childhood because of how much she compared her to all the other girls. Kate's dad walked out when she was 8 that was when her mom went crazy about her not being like all the other girls. Before Kate's dad walked out she never cared. Kate sat on the couch and let her mind wander. Her ringtone brought her back to reality. "Hello?"
"Ms. Collins?"
"Yes"
"I'm sorry but there's been an accident."
"What?!"
"Your mom is in the hospital." Kate dropped the phone this can't be happening. She changed her clothes and put shoes on and ran out the door. Everything was a blur until she got to the hospital the receptionist smilled at her. How are they always so happy? Kate wondered to herself.
"I'm looking for my mom, Jane Collins." She looked up from the computer and gave her a sympathetic smile. That's never a good thing "Room 304" Kate took the elevator surprsingly nobody ever walked in, which was kinda creepy. When she got to the room one of the doctors made it a point to talk to her. "A-are you Jane's daughter" Kate nodded not trusting her voice "She just came out of surgery she's in acoma now." "Will she be ok?" "Only time will tell." Kate mentally rolled her eyes and opened the door and gasped when she seen her mother. She'd never seen her so pale before and she had a scar on one side of her face. Kate ran to her lifeless body "I'm so sorry, mom" An hour later a nurse walked in "It could be days before she wakes up why don't you go home and get some rest." Kate nodded and walked out she decided to go to the little coffee shop 3 blocks away.

Kate drove extra carefully since the accident. She parked the car and laid her head on the steering wheel. Kate couldn't help but blame herself. She finally got out of the car and walked into the coffee shop. She was surprised how few people were in there. "Large white chocolate mocha" "That'll be $5.83" Kate paid and watched them make her drink. She got her drink and sat in a booth in the back. "Oh my god! YOURE THE GAMER CHIC!!" "Really I hadn't noticed" they both laughed "Can I have a picture with you?" "Of course" "Thank you so much" "You're welcome." When she walked away Kate was suddenly brought back to reality. She sighed and laid her head on her arms. "Look at you being miss popularity" Kate lifted her head and laughed lightly "Hey Michael" her voice cracked from crying so much. "Hey what's wrong?" "My mom came to my house and we got into a fight. She wrecked and is now in a coma." Kate explained and played with her cup not wanting to look him in the eyes. "Oh Kate I'm so sorry" a few seconds later she felt him sit next to her and hug her.
"How long are you in town for?"
"I think we're off for 2 months" "You should come over" Kate had no idea where that came from but Michael's face seemed to light up or she was just hoping it did. "A-are you sure?" "Yeah I could use the company unless you have plans" "No I'd love to beat you at video games" "oh that is soo not happening."
