~~Scarlett~~
The explosion behind me echoed through my ears when I was forced to dive out of the way from the rocket launcher that the man with the clown looking face had fired at me. The sounds of his maniacal laughter showed that he didn't care that Desmond wanted me alive but he gave me a way out of this this building. All I had with me was a blue hoodie and a pair of dark worn out and stained jeans that clung to my body that began to drip with sweat. I was trapped inside that building for almost about a week, I was subjected to different tests, many needles and many injections by the gorilla man's many scientists. I knew that they were looking for something, something that was inside my blood and before the explosion my mother, who was also trapped in this building, she injected me with an unknown substance. She said that whatever this was will protect me, that I would be able to escape from this building but she told me to run away and to not look back not even for her. I was pushing hard to run faster knowing that gorilla man would have his men come after me. I started to feel a bit funny, it started with a sharp pain inside my head then it felt worse and I could feel my blood surging through my veins. I figured it was my adrenaline starting to pump inside me since all I could see through my eyes was everything I could use to get away. With a small turn of my head I could see some of the men who wanted to shoot me were tailing me so I pushed my body to run even harder feeling myself get faster. My entire body felt like it was vibrating while I was running, my eyes moved quickly as I began to search for my escape route. I saw a car parked with the fire escape above it; I turned to that direction, I jumped on top of the hood of the car when I heard the sounds of gunfire echo behind me. I felt my body dodge the bullets that were at my feet behind me and hitting the brick wall in front of me leaping up catching the ladder into my hands."Desmond wants her alive!" One of the men yelled where I climbed up the ladder swiftly hearing them jumping onto the ladder below me. I began rushing up the stairs after stairs leading to the roof while I dodged more bullets they shot at me to stop but I couldn't. I made it to the roof hearing them below me, I skidded to a stop when I saw that there was only four of them pursuing me then the original ten. They were almost in grabbing distance of me when I began to run again, I turned to look ahead for my next option when I saw a man in black spandex jump in front of me. They startled me when my feet skidded trying to stop but I couldn't as I slid into him and he caught me from going off balance. My lungs were burning, I locked into his blue eyes with mine when I heard the sound of guns clicking behind me.
"Get down!" He commanded I saw him pull out two batons from his back then I saw blue electricity began to spark at the tips. I back flipped in midair where the two henchmen that were charging at us collided with the two batons. I landed near the other two henchmen dropping to one knee to sweep the one henchman's leg taking him off his feet when the gun rapid fire in his grip. I front flipped with one of my legs extended in order to slam my heel onto his chest. I backrolled to the other guy taking his head in between my legs as I stood in a handstand. Using my strength I pushed him over me slamming him onto his ally before dropping back to my feet. The one I hit first began to stand again holding his gun pointing it right to my chest, I felt my hand grab the gun pulling him forward and I used my elbow to slam into his face. I tossed the gun to the side while the other henchman got to his feet as I slammed my fist against his jaw where I felt the bones shatter into splinters against my skin. He grasped his chin when I was surprised, I couldn't believe that I had the strength to break his jaw like that because it was hanging off to the side. My face turned to see the man in black spandex finish off the guy he had in his grip. I began to back away slowly not sure whether to trust him or run away but my gut told me not to trust anyone even a man dressed in black spandex. "Hey...it's okay...Take it easy, I'm here to help you." The man in black spandex holstered his batons onto his back and slowly moved towards me holding up his hands. I shook my head not agreeing with what he said, I didn't want to hear that where I charged full force leaping through the air and landing on the roof ten feet away from the building the man in black was on. I looked over at him hoping he wasn't going to follow me but I watched him also ran off the roof and land a few feet from me. I got the feeling that he wasn't a quitter and I could sense that more danger coming our way. I knew right now that I had to lose him before Desmond found me because this guy would draw his attention easily. I continued leaping from one roof to another while the man in black spandex got closer trying to keep up with me. I found myself on the last roof leaving me with no other options but to jump down into traffic below as I heard the man in black land onto the roof.
"Stay away from me." I hissed moving slowly back stopping because now I stood on the edge of the roof watching him stop he was holding his hands up again which he now signaled that he wasn't going to move anymore.
"Okay...look I won't hurt you. My name is Nightwing, I saw you running from that explosion in that building and I just wanted to see if you were harmed." He exclaimed I glared at him; I could see his blue eyes were looking over every inch of my body for any wounds or injuries. I felt sort of violated while I watched him as he was looking at me but I couldn't stop his eyes. I was hoped that he would finish up soon and he would leave me alone.
"Do I look hurt? No...I'm fine." I replied I watched as he relooked at my whole body seeing that I had no wounds but I knew I had to jump to get away from this man.
"The man that runs that building? Roland Desmond, he is a very dangerous criminal and I can help you. I don't know why you were there tonight but whatever he wants with you I know that he will find you wherever you try to hide. I can protect you." He answered I felt a surge of adrenaline hit my heart and my vision dilated with my chest tightened.
"I can take care of myself...I don't need a man in spandex to help me. Just stay away ''Nightwing'' if you know what's good for you." I exclaimed falling backwards where he charged after me as I back flipped through the air. I managed to land onto my feet completely unharmed and it was shocking for me to see. I saw a blinding bright light from an oncoming car on my right side about to run me over as I slammed both of my hands down against the hood. I left imprints from my hands when they slammed onto the hood as the car jolted to a halt before me. The driver definitely got whiplash from the quick stop I forced his car to do as I saw him slam his head into the seat. I looked at my hands then I remembered "Nightwing" was above me on the roof and I knew he would be coming again. "I guess I don't need your protection after all." The alleyway was in front of me as I ran into the darkness climbing into the empty building to avoid his gaze. I continued running until I got to the neighborhood until "Nightwing" wasn't following me anymore. My feet finally stopped as I began to catch my breath that pounded against my chest and I was still in shock from everything that happened. I started walking slowly through the neighborhood feeling the cold air cool me off as I was wrapped up in my thoughts. How did I do those things? I mean I am a champ at parkour, skilled in martial arts and gymnastics but what is going on with my body? Whatever it was that"Nightwing" guy wanted, whatever answers he thought I had sadly I didn't have any. I was close to my apartment knowing that Desmond wouldn't go after me there since my family home he would find me. I needed answers, I needed to figure out what my mother injected into me and I knew that I will find them out one way or another.
