Part 3 • The accident

[Rye's POV]
I couldn't believe my eyes! In front of me stood Andrew Robert Fowler. The one person on this planet I could never hate.

Meeting his blue eyes again after so long immediately took me back to about 10 years ago

[Flashback]
Our football team was on the way to the last match of the season. All of us were extra excited as we were about to become the champion and on top of that it was our first time in our own team bus.

I was sitting next to Andy, like I always did. We were inseparable at that time.

Andy walked up to the twins, Jayden and Caleb, probably to discuss something about the line-up for the match.

I turned around to have a chat with two of my best mates Misha and Finn.
Then I heard Andy shout my name. "Rye!"

Then I realized someone was actually calling my name and I got snapped out of my thoughts.

"Rye, good to see you man" Blair said. I hadn't even noticed he had appeared behind the short blonde boy, who was still standing in the doorframe.

Blair glanced at both our faces, "are you guys alright?" He asked, probably a little confused as though why we looked so shocked.

"Y-yea, we're fine" I quickly replied.
"Well let's get inside then so we can discuss some things" he said, while already turning around.

Andy and I quickly followed him into the house.
Something about him looked weird, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

We both sat down on the sofa and I pretended to be very interested in the vase next to me, but still the silence was extremely awkward.

Luckily Blair was there to break it, walking in with three cups. "I assumed you would want a tea as well, so I made three." He said and then sat down in the big chair, standing across of the sofa we were on.

"Well as you both know, you are the start of the boyband RoadTrip, which I'm planning to make a five-piece eventually." He started.

After that he started to talk about some practical stuff. He also told us he already had his eye on these two other boys with great potential, Mikey and Brooklyn.

My mind wandered off again and my eyes went to the blonde sitting just a few meters away from me.

[Flashback (again)]
"Rye" I heard Andy shout, so I turned back around. He had a big smile on his face, probably about to tell me something exciting.

But guess I'll never know what, 'cause at that moment I just looked behind him, frightened.

The smile on his face changed to a confused frown as he turned around.

And that is the last thing I saw of him before a bus crashed into ours...
