As Tanjiro takes a seat, I give him some tea. Before he explains what happens, he takes a big sip of the hot, steaming tea.  My uncle went to find the charcoal Tanjiro gave us to light a fire. I stare at Tanjiro as his sister lies on his back peacefully sleeping. Tanjiro still gave me a smile but I couldn't hold back the tears. Seeing Tanjiro hurt, torn up, and tired made me wistful.

" I'm sorry Tanjiro! I'm sorry this happened to you! I'm sorry for being to shy to even start a conversation with you! " I cried out loud.

" I'm so sorry that you lost most of your family."

I stare at the old wooden floorboards, watching my teardrops hit the ground. I look back at Tanjiro with a mournful look and he smiles back.

" You don't have to say sorry Y/N. You're not responsible for it, but thank you, thank you a lot for your concern. "

He once again smiles gently. I wipe my tears and try to smile as best I can. Uncle Shioto lights a fire and questions Tanjiro. He explains that he met a man by the name of "Tomioka" and told him to meet someone in mt. Sagiri. My Uncle being very confused about Nezuko, he gives Tanjiro a bamboo basket with a lid.

" I hope this basket is good enough to cover and carry your sister in. It might be too small."

Tanjiro thanks my uncle and right before our eyes, Nezuko shrinks! She starts shrinking into a child-like body to fit into the basket"

Tanjiro thanks us once again and starts getting ready to leave.

" Stay safe Tanjiro! Protect your sister! We wish you the best!" My uncle exclaims.

" Remember to write to me Tanjiro! Stay safe! We wish you the best"

We wave back to Tanjiro as he waves back at us. We watch him slowly walk through the snow with grief until we couldn't see him anymore.

" I feel horrible for that boy, I hope everything will be okay for him." My uncle says as he walks back into the house.

Not long after, I started my training to become a demon slayer

My uncle started training me once the season changed into spring. Spring, for me, was always a beautiful time. All the flowers blooming, and the fruits are just amazing. BUT this year was painful. Running through the forest trying to collect every single paper on a tree. Trying to be one with nature? And I never thought I'd have to memorize every native flower in Japan.

I always questioned this to myself why I had to do all this but at the end of the day, I was too tired to care. Let's just say this spring was horrible. Right after each training, I'd always write a letter to Tanjiro with a sketch of a flower. It turns out that he is also training to become a demon slayer. I mean, after losing your loved ones who wouldn't?

   2 years later

As my uncle throws a bunch of sakura petals into the air, I draw my blade to slice each one of the petals into two. After so many attempts I did it. Watching the sakura petals fall down with a clean sharp edge fall down by one was majestic.

" Your ready" My uncle smiles.

" Finally!" I think to myself, I can finally become a demon slayer! Not only that, I've become way stronger then I was before. Tanjiro and I don't send letters as often as we used too. After our training became more intense we slowly started drifting away sending 2 or 3 letters a month. When I do send letters I wonder if he and his sister are alright.
