Chapter 5

Alyssar needed air, she got up and walked down the decking and to the huge yard. She walked and walked until they could not longer see her, only then did she break down and cry. Joshua seemed so different to Brian, in looks and in mannerisms.

She was no fool, he had that deadly scary vibe about him. But he was not consumed by hate of her religion like Brian seemed to be. He actually looked like he was appalled by his brother's remarks against her.

She sat down on the grass and continued to sob. How could her life become so crazy. If Ahmad was to die, then she would have nobody left who cared for her. Nobody...she would be married to Gregory and her life would be over. Brian was proving to be a son of a bitch, he was cruel, mean and insensitive.

Still she could not get over what Stewart had told her. He stood back and watched those assholes terrorize her...doing nothing...not until they touched her. Fuck him.

So scared for Ahmad she was at a loss...how did she manage to leave and get word to Ahmad that he was a dead man? It did not matter, nothing fucking mattered, she was so doomed.

She was so lost in thought that she did not realize Joshua had walked up to her. Placing her hand on her heart she gasped. "You scared me" She said. He threw out his smoke and sat down on the ground opposite her' knees bent his arms resting casually on them.. He was way too good looking...his eyes were so...amazing...green and blue...sparkling.

"You okay?" He asked her. She nodded. Now she wanted to cry. "The fuck would you agree to marry that fool?" He asked her.

"Not my choice...it doesn't matter...it is done" She hated being so defeated.

"Look, I am sorry about my fucker of a brother, he is not usually so...so...like that"

"Not your fault" She had nothing else to say. Joshua was looking at her so intensely that she felt her face color.

"I do not have a choice...I have to do away with him" Alyssar felt her heart break. She allowed her tears to fall freely, no longer trying to stop them.

"Why?" She asked. Her eyes begging for him to reconsider.

"He is my brother, he never asks for anything...I have to deliver...I owe him everything"

"He does not even know Ahmad...why does he want it to happen?" She was going to lose her sanity. Nothing made sense.

"He must have his reasons..."

"You will kill somebody who has done nothing to you?" he drew in a breathe...it looked like he was not used to explaining his actions.

"It is my job...I do it for a living...I am sorry kid...trust me, If it wasn't for Brian, there would be no way I would do it for Carlton...I hate that prick"

"What if I get Brian to change his mind?"

"You have until tomorrow...if you can get him to change his mind I will walk away" She smiled. He was sweet, in a hot scary type of way..

"Can you reason with him...at least try...I know you do not owe me a thing..." He nodded.

"I'll try..." He got up and helped her up also. "Look, do not hold your breathe...he seems very head strong about this" Alyssar knew this...she was just happy to have somebody who was willing to help her out...even though chances of Ahmad living were slim.

As they headed back both Brian and Gregory were glaring at them. Joshua looked at his brother. "Problem there bro?" He asked smartly. Gregory stood up and excused himself. He looked at Alyssar and explained he had business to take care of. Like she cared or gave a shit what he was doing.
