It was early in the morning, the morning dew was fresh on the cold green grass. But the sounds of war were impossible to escape. A war between two kingdoms, Nohr and Hoshido, was inevitable.
"Nohrian scum!" Takumi shouted. He shot arrows at his enemies on the other side of the battlefield. He was a good archer, but he desperately wanted this war to end. Not only because people in both nations were suffering, there was also food and water shortages, disease and death. The main reason Takumi wanted this war to end was because he wanted to meet his Nohrian equivalent, Leo. He only met him once, but he began to crush on him as soon as he laid his eyes upon him.
"Surrender now or prepare for death!" Takumi's older brother, Ryoma, shouted in the distance. Ryoma was next in line for the throne, but because of war, who knows what could happen. He could die in battle, which means that Takumi would be next in line, and he didn't think he could handle such a task. Especially since the one he loves is on the other side of the border.
"The Nohrians! They've begun their retreat!" Azura shouted to the others.
"Take that, Nohrian scum!" Takumi shouted. The Hoshidan army began making their way back to their castle.
"We won! We won!" Azura chanted as she pranced around happily.
"Don't get too happy," Ruin sighed, "Who knows what could happen tomorrow." He took off his armor. When they got back to the castle, Takumi just looked out the window.
"Something wrong, Takumi?" Ryoma asked, putting his hand on his younger brother's shoulder.
"Oh, no. Nothing at all." Takumi sighed, he turned to face his older brother. Ryoma smiled, "Well, I suggest you get some rest. Like Ruin said, who knows what could happen tomorrow."
"Alright." Takumi replied. He got up and walked to his room. Hours passed, he ate, figured out his strategy, and spent countless hours looking out his bedroom window. He waited until the sun had set, and everyone was asleep, especially Ryoma. If him, or anyone in Hoshido, found out about this, he would be dead meat. He lit a candle and quietly snuck out of his bedroom. He went downstairs to see the guards lined up against the walls of the castle. He slowly walked to the door facing the Nohrian and Hoshidan border, and got one of the guard's attention.
"Prince Takumi," the guard bowed, "What are you doing up at this hour?"
"I need you to deliver a message, if you don't mind." Takumi said with a nervous smile on his face.
"To who, and what is the message?" The guard asked.
"To Prince Leo of Nohr, tell him to meet me on the border tomorrow night. I need to talk with him." Takumi responded.
"Right away, Prince Takumi." The guard responded as he got up onto his horse.
"Thank you very much." Takumi replied.
"You're welcome, Prince Takumi." The guard responded before he rode off to Nohr. Takumi watched until the guard and his horse were out of sight before sneaking back up to his room.
