Late at night, there was a knock at the door. Prince Xander got up out of his bed and walked to the door. He was still very tired from yesterday's crushing defeat. He lit a candle and walked down to the main door of the castle.
"A Hoshidan?" Xander asked quietly when he opened the door. He readied his weapon.
"I mean no harm, Prince Xander," the Hoshidan guard assured him, "I just have a message for Prince Leo."
"I see," Prince Xander narrowed his eyes, "I'll go wake him, wait here." He said before going upstairs. Xander walked into Leo's bedroom and shook his arm, "Leo. Wake up."
Leo moaned and crumbled as he sat up, "What is it, Xander? Can't you see I'm trying to sleep?"
"There's a Hoshidan messenger at the door. He says he has a message for you." Xander replied.
"A Hoshidan messenger? He probably wants to warn us of another battle or something." Leo sighed as he stood up and began walking to the door. Xander put his arm out in front of him,
"Aren't you going to take a weapon with you?" Leo moved Xander's arm, "No. If anything, I can take him out with my hands." He replied as he walked towards the stairs.
"If you say so." Xander sighed to himself as he walked back to his bedroom. Leo went down to the main door and greeted the Hoshidan messenger.
"Prince Leo, I'm here to deliver a message for you from Prince Takumi." The guard stated.
"Alright," Leo sighed, "What's the message?"
"Prince Takumi wants to meet you on the border tomorrow night, he says he wants to have a conversation with you." The guard replied.
"I see. Tell him that I'll meet him on the border at 10:30 tomorrow night." Leo responded.
"As you wish, Prince Leo. Good night." The guard responded as he rode off.
"What was that about, Prince Leo?" Xander asked as he and Camilla walked downstairs.
"Oh, don't tell me we're going into another battle..!" Camilla whined as she pulled Leo into a hug.
"No, we're not." Leo said coldly as he pushed Camilla away. As much as she loved her hugs, he wasn't in the best of moods.
"Then what did that Hoshidan messenger want with you?" Xander asked, he looked at Leo suspiciously.
"Just to let me know that some of our dogs have gotten into Hoshido." Leo lied, "I'm surprised they didn't just kill them."
"Shouldn't they have talked to dad about it?" Camilla asked.
"Garon's a killing machine. Before that guard could even get one word out of his mouth, he'd be dead." Xander replied.
