            Ch 12

Vincent started by telling Midoriya and Uraraka what his quirk is, who he is and how this happened but then he said something weird.

"I was technically awake the entire time, it's just that my body was out of commission. Something like stasis to keep things simple." He said.

"What exactly do you mean? I don't get it." Midoriya said as he scratched his head.

"Ok. You know how the human body shuts down after overexerting itself or when the body doesn't have enough energy to continue operating like normal?"

"Yeah, like exhaustion, right?" Midoriya responded.

"Er, sure. So, most people, if not everyone experiences that, and they likely pass out or go to sleep in order to recover their energy. I don't. When I run out of energy or I hit my limit, my body shuts down and I go into a form of stasis. I'm fully conscious but... I'm not there." Vincent started to trail off towards the end.

"So...when your eye was glowing earlier and you were talking to us and said that you'd be awake in an hour with a really eerie and sinister aura, that wasn't you?" Uraraka asked.

"Yeah, that wasn't me. That was Christin, the ghost taking up space in my body. I told him not to mess with you guys, but he went and did it anyway." Vincent said as he clicked his tongue and tried to sit himself up.

"Do you two not get along or something? He didn't say much aside from when you'd wake up and something about until we meet again to me." I said as I tried to help him, but he waved me off.

"Himiko, remember when I told you that I hadn't heard from him in four years? During the exercise, he talked to me, told me what to do and helped me save all of you. So, to be frank, if it wasn't for him running his mouth, I'd probably be in a worse condition due to me doing something drastic. As far as getting along, I wouldn't say that we don't, we just don't talk much. The last time he spoke to me before today was when he told me that he respected me. During my stasis period just now, he and I were talking nearly the entire time. Almost like friends." He said.

"So, is he able to take control of your body when you're in stasis or is he just keeping your body conscious? Can he hear us and talk to us now if he wanted to?" Midoriya asked.

"When I go into stasis, Christin automatically takes over otherwise I'd just be an unconscious body on the ground and yeah, he can move around while he's in control via him surging his energy through me. Again, he's the reason I have a quirk and while I have learned to make the power my own, he doesn't have the same limitations that I do such as the splitting headaches with him being a ghost and all. However, my body can only take so much and if it gets to a point where irreparable damage would be done, I'm sure he'd stop. As for him hearing us, he spends most of his time sleeping and when I go to sleep, actual sleep, he's awake. Christin can't forcefully take control of my body, I'd have to give him control but if he did want to talk to you, I'd give him temporary control like I did earlier when he spoke to you." Vincent explained.

After he said that, Vincent started to get out of bed and struggled while doing so. We all helped him get out of bed and made sure he could walk on his own. He answered some more questions that we had to ask until we ran out.

"Oh one last question, why did Christin only address Toga when he was talking to us?" Uraraka asked.

"I forgot that you brought that up earlier. I'll have to ask him for specifics but to keep things short for now, he's grateful that she and I met. I'm going to leave it at that." He said.

After that, he said that he heard Aizawa say our scores and, although weak, managed to show some excitement about it then Midoriya said something about getting food.

As we began walking, we heard someone shouting at our group and they were specifically addressing Vincent and I. It was Bakugo being unreasonably angry with us and it kind of scared me. His anger reminded me of the rage strewn across Shiguraki's face when I told him that I didn't want to be a villain anymore. I felt my legs start to shake and my hands tremble, but I stood my ground and told him to leave us alone because we hadn't done anything to him.

"You two being born was the worst possible thing that could have happened in my life! I mean, why do I have to attend a hero school with villains and a quirkless bastard? I'm wasting my ti-"

"Christin, I'm too tired for this. You take over." Vincent said as he closed his eyes and lowered his head.

"What'd you say you piece of shi"-

"Silence." There it was again. That ominous and sinister pressure had returned. This time, both eyes were glowing and now that Christin was in control, he looked incredibly angry.

"Who the hell do you think you're tal-" Bakugo said before he was cut off by Christin approaching him.

"I told you to be silent. You don't know who YOU'RE talking to child. For your sake, you'd best leave me, us, alone." Christin said as he got closer to him and what looked like fire started appearing around his body.

"I care not for your people's morals. I only care if you get in my, our, way. I will not hesitate to break you if you get in Vincent's way. Do you understand?" Christin said as he was now close enough to grab Bakugo's shirt if he wanted to.

Bakugo looked too angry to say anything in response to him and started to walk away but Christin stopped him by extended his hand and wires came from them and held Bakugo up.

"Do. You. Understand. Katsuki Bakugo?" Christin said as he held Bakugo above the ground.

         "I get it!" He shouted.

Christin put him down and let him walk away, although it looked more like Bakugo was a degree just under running away. Christin didn't turn around to face us until Bakugo was around the corner and out of sight.

"You should have let me rough him up a bit Vincent. I promise I only would have broken his ego into thousands of pieces. Oh, you're no fun. Fine, fine, I'll hand things over back to you. Enjoy your time with your new friends." Christin spoke his conversation with Vincent out loud before their eye color returned to normal.

"Well that exchange aside, if you don't mind me moving at a snail's pace, lead the way because I'm very hungry." Vincent said.

"That's the first time I've ever seen anyone stand up to him. You're amazing Mikasuki!" Midoriya exclaimed as we began walking.

"First time for everything Midoriya. I'm not going let someone like that intimidate me into failure."

As we left the building in search of food, my phone buzzed as we were walking and talking, and it was a text from Vincent. I must learn how he can text so well without looking at his phone.

"If this is what having friends is like, then I think we're in for a good time here." The text read.

"Yeah. I think we are." I replied with a smile on my face.
