Amelia
I finish up signing my charts as Link walks around to greet me.
"Come on, let's go." He says.
"I need to finish," I say but he already pulled an intern over to finish for me.
I smile and he smirks.
I close the chart and grab my bag, he takes my hand and we walk out of the hospital.
"Here we are," Link says softly.
For the next hour we sit outside the small ice cream shop sipping our milkshakes, mine being specifically Oreo.
This has been a routine for Link and I, he says he wants to take me out but neither of us have time for a sit down date.
I honestly like this more.
"Can you believe I'm almost in my third trimester?"
He looks at me like I blew his mind. "This has gone by so goddamn fast,"
"Remember in New York when you told everybody I was Owen," he jokes and I nudge his shoulder.
It's funny bringing that up. It feels like a lifetime ago.
"You got a little something," he points out and I try to wipe it off.
He's pointing at my lip, so I look dumb trying to find the ice cream on my face.
Link leans in closer and whispers, sending chills though my body.
"Got it," He puts his hand on my cheek and his lips touch mine.
We both release looking at eachother. "I love you," I say, with the biggest smile.
"I love you, Amelia Shepherd." He puts his hand on mine.
"Move in with me," he announces.
My heart stops.
"Link, if you're just saying that because I'm pregnant with your baby then," he stops my rambling and puts his hand on my stomach.
Butterflies.
All I can do is smile, because his smile is contagious.
"I love you, and this baby, and we are a family now. Let's take the next step. I know you've been down this road, and it scares you, but you don't have to be scared or worried. We are in this together." His words calm my soul and all I can think to do is say yes.
What were we waiting for, anyways?

2 months later
My eyes open but I can't see anything through Amelia's hair. I nestle closer into her, and she does the same back.
I rub my hand on her thigh, and whisper good morning in her ear.
She smiles, and flips around to face me.
Her eyes are mesmerizing, I could look at them for hours.
She looks up at me like I'm the only thing that matters.
God, I love her so much. How the hell did I get so lucky?
No, being a dad anytime soon wasn't my plan. It wasn't anywhere near my plan. But then I met Amelia, and then I fell in love, and then she was pregnant with our child.
I place my hand gently on her belly and Amelia goes in for a kiss.
It's like, fireworks. Yeah, fireworks go off every time I kiss her.
I then feel a flutter coming from her stomach.
"Oh my god," this brings the biggest smile on my face, and Amelia does her little giggle.
"I've never been able to feel it before," I point out.
"Pretty wonderful," She smiles.
"God, I don't want to go to work, be on my feet." She yawns and stretches as she attempts to get out of bed.
I jump up to go help her, and she looks at me sarcastically.
"Then don't, Bailey will understand. Take your leave now." I insist.
"I mean, now that sounds amazing. But I'll start to miss surgery. And I know that when after this baby is born, I'm going to want to be so excited for the OR I won't even be able to think straight." She makes a good point.
"I mean, look at Teddy. She made Owen stay home with Allison because she missed cutting so bad." Amelia gets dressed as she rambles.
As we brush our teeth in the bathroom, like a married couple or something, she starts to talk about the birth.
"It's coming in a month. One, month. So, what's the plan? I want Addison there, but is that awkward? Will she judge me? Will that bring back too many bad memories?" I can tell she's stressing herself out.
I grab her shoulders and tell her to stop. "Amelia, why would she judge you? You're over thinking this. I honestly, personally think you're going to want her there. After everything that you went through, you deserve what you want."
She takes a deep breath.
"Did the crib ever come in the mail?" She changes he subject.
We both laugh and go on with our days.
