John's childhood gave him low self esteem. Phil always beat the shit out of the poor child and his sister. John's mom died at child birth and he lived with his dad for a year. When his dad died he didn't talk for years and he finally spoke saying "fuck you Phil".
But he loved his aunt a lot she taught him how to be self proficient and how to fight. She read to him every night, and gave him and Joan a kiss goodnight. Because of that John learned what true love is.
John tried to live the lessons his aunt taught him. She used to tell him," respect women, and you will surely find the perfect wife. And promise me that you will bring her to me. For she will be the most beautiful bride in the world".
John was never a ladies man but he tried to find a woman that he could grow to love but all the women he dated didn't like his life of being a bounty hunter. He was hardly ever home and it would be hard for him to raise a child with his insane work. He risked death every time he put on his armor.
Today he was taking a major risk by taking in a X4 job when his last one was an X2. He is off to go to the desert planet with little to no resources. He goes to the store to buy ammo and food. The plasma projector chip was out in ship, that made the warp drive inactive. One of those we're about 60,000 IACs. He pulled all of his money out of the bank and now he was broke, but if he makes it out of this mission alive he will have twice that amount. He had the shops mechanic fix his warp drive it was an old ship but it used to be the fastest ship in galaxy. He left after the ship was fixed and headed for his next bounty.
The planet was on the far edge of the galaxy, so it took about three days to get there. He relaxed as Leumas filled the cabin with sleeping gas to help John get rested. John had an amazing dream about family and having a son to call his own.
He woke right before landing. He had a hologram debriefing with the council and found out that the alien he was hunting had a quick trigger finger, he also had a gambling problem. Now knowing that John when to the saloon and looked for a green eyed, red skinned, lizard man. He saw many for this was the home planet but only one with a gun. He was thinking that this is his man. John approached him and asked if he could speak for a minute. The Lorian said," Sure man, but I let my gun do my speaking".
The Lorian pulled out his and fired at John. John jumped behind the bar counter and loaded his revolver while shooting his rifle at the gunslinger. He was terrified for this was the longest gun fight he has ever been in. But John had faith in his mind and his guns. But John saw the lizards trench coat and loved the dark leather and the sewed on gun holster, he had to have it. John only went for head shots because he didn't want to hurt the beautifully tailored designer coat. John came up to make another shot when he saw that they had killed all of civilians in the shitty bar. But that was not John's concern. As he looked around he felt a quick sharp pain in his arm and saw that he had be shot. It didn't hit any vitals and he able to carry on he aimed his at the top of the lizards head that was popping out of where he taking cover. John shot and got and got him. John was done and didn't harm the coat he was happy about his achievement. He got the coat and tried it on and absolutely loved it had a cooling gel on the inside so he could wear it on planets up to two hundred and thirty degrees. As he was walking out of town he was praised by the locals. Whilst being praised he saw a human woman sitting by the bank he walks over to her and tries to ask her why she's here . She said," Ive been stuck here since I've been 15 I'm 23 now nobody ever comes here so I haven't had the opportunity to leave". John said," come with me I'll take you to my home and you can stay there for nothing. I've needed some company and somebody to keep me in line".
She agreed to join John in order to get away from the hell ridden shit hole she was in. During the trip home they got to know each other. And found out that they lived similar lives on earth. She lived in Russia and John lived in Texas but the earth is all the same. Both of them are twenty three and were virgins. They started to grow fond of each other. As they got to his house he showed her around his quite large apartment. She enjoyed finally having some human company. He cooked her some his famous fried chicken that has won several colony fair awards. The chicken made her mouth water and at that moment she fell in love with John. Her name is Lana and John was in love.
