16. Fondue For Two

''Hi guys and welcome back to a brand new Fondue for two. Today's special guest is the one and only Rebecca. First question, what is your last name?'' Brittany started. Kara was overwhelmed by the whole thing and didn't know what to answer. She had never thought of a last name since she arrived here. She was just Rebecca. She had chosen the name because she loved that name so much. There was an awkward silence. Brittany stared at Kara, which made Kara feel very uncomfortable. ''My l-last name? Oh, that's... Danvers'' Kara decided not to lie about this one. ''Danvers hm.... that's a weird name... Rebecca Danvers. Is that the name your biological parents gave you or your adoptive parents? Before they left you, of course'' Brittany asked. Kara needed to think her answers through. ''That's the name my adoptive parents gave me. I don't remember my biological parents'' Kara said and smiled awkwardly at the camera. ''Moving on...'' Brittany said after she thought about that for a moment. ''What is your least favorite part of your body?''

Kara did not expect this question. ''Um I think my cheeks?'' Kara doubted. She had looked a lot through mirrors ever since she was a teen again and her cheeks looked rediculous. They didn't even look like they did when she actually was a teenager. It was like she was only half Kryptonian, because on one side she still had her power, but on the other side she had a human sides, like gaining weight. ''Is that because your biological parents or adoptive parents hit you a lot in the face?'' Brittany said it like it wasn't a question, like she just needed Kara to confirm it. ''Uh, no-'' but before Kara could explain Brittany interrupted. ''Is it true that your adoptive parents were supposed to send you to boarding school, so they could get rid of you, but they accidentally sent you here and you have slept for weeks in the school library?" Brittany asked. Kara stared at her awkwardly. "Yes, that is true" she said. "And then Marley told you you could stay with her?"

"Also true?"

"So you are not wanted except at Marley's?"

"Why do you ask these questions?" Kara said instead of answering. "You're right, next subject" she said and smiled for a moment at the camera. Kara took a dish and dipped it into the cheese. She hoped it would be a little colder by now. She blew against it and tried to eat it. It was really gross. Kara didn't feel the heat of it, but put it aside anyway. "Is it that hot?" Brittany asked. "It is very gross, sorry" Kara said honest. "Thank you so much for the compliment!" Brittany smiled bright, Kara didn't understand.

''Is it true that you love to go to the zoo and that you would rather live there?'' Brittany continued. ''What? No'' Kara said with a confused look on her face. ''Okay, just wanted to make sure you were normal'' Brittany smirked. Kara shrugged her shoulders. She really wanted to go back to Marley's house and cook or something. This was just awkward.

''Last question. Why did you stay in McKinley?'' Brittany said after a little break with an awkward silence. ''What do you mean?''

''Brittany!!!!'' a female voice shouted from down the stairs. Brittany sighed. ''Nevermind, it's my mom. I need to eat. I'll figure out why you didn't leave. I'll search for you secret until I have found it'' she said as she walked to the camera and turned it off. ''What?'' Kara didn't understand. Brittany was such a sweet girl, but on the other hand... she was so very different and Kara had no idea what to do. ''I'll talk to you at school'' Brittany said as they walked downstairs. Kara said goodbye and walked home.

That was really strange, she thought on her way home.

''I saw the episode in the hospital'' Marley smirked as she ate dinner. Kara had made pasta with potstickers. ''I really love these, I have never eaten them before. I guess they were too expensive, how could you affort it?'' Marley continued a little more serious. ''Oh, I barrowed some money from Brittany'' Kara lied with a smile. She just needed potstickers! How long could she continue to live without them!! But they were so expensive on this earth, it sucked. ''Did you hve a good time with Brittany?'' Marley asked. ''Well, as you saw, it was mostly awkward'' Kara said a little sad, but then bursted out in laughing. ''Yeah, I saw'' Marley grinned. They ate some more. ''You can eat so much!'' Marley praised. ''How was your mom?'' Kara asked. Marley sighed. That didn't sound good to Kara. ''The doctors said that she will wake up tomorrow. The surgery took many long hours and they were still busy in the night. If everything is alright she must wake up tomorrow'' Marley said. She shrugged her shoulders. ''I can't believe this is happening to me'' she said with tears in her eyes. ''It will be okay, I promise. Here, eat another potsticker'' Kara said as she hugged Marley and handed her another potsticker. She smiled for a moment and ate it.

Kara hoped she would never have to experience this amount of awkwardness again in her life...
