She Is My Angel

Angel
Sweet angel
Your melancholy song
Tells me you're not ok.

You stand on my front porch
Whispering hymns of sorrow
As my arms blanket
Around your incased soul

Angel
Sweet angel
Have the demons got you again?
Your eyes are sunken deep into your skull

Your lungs
Grasping for air from the heavens
Only to find yourself
Swallowing the vastness of the sea

Angel
Broken angel
One by one the feathers
Of your wings fall off

And you're left
With the skeleton
Of shattered promises
Scattered all over my front porch

Angel
Dying angel
Let me bring you back
To where you belong
