Hux looked through the halls for Ben worried what he might be thinking finally he found him sitting at a table in his room.
Ben looked at him. "So... Owen..."
"Yeah" Hux said drawing out the word.
Ben thought of what to say, he really just wanted to test out the new name, it did suit Hux. "I just spoke to Rey... she said that Phasma is doing well." That was what he had been planning on telling him earlier.
"That's good" Hux said smiling slightly then the smile faded "about my father..."
"Yes?" Ben asked
"Well you...I guess I should have told you but I just....."
"I understand, I would have done the same," Ben replied. "I'm sorry for blowing up at him in front of you like that... I didn't know that he was your father."
"It's fine honestly I don't like him that much either," Hux says truthfully
Ben nodded, but there was a look of guilt on his face. "I'm sorry that I killed him."
"Trust me a few days ago I might have done the same thing but he really killed himself anyway" Hux replied
Ben nodded, knowing it was true. Nothing he had done during their duel had affected Luke. But that's didn't change what he had done to his father. Ben turned away so that Hux wouldn't see him cry.
"Don't worry about it, it was his choice plus he acts just as happy as ever actually he acts more happy now than he used to" Hux says thinking about it.
Ben nodded, not looking at him. Finally he pulled himself together well enough to speak. "So... what happened?... if you don't mind me asking."
Hux took in a deep breath "well when my mother died my father changed at least that's what my aunt told me" he paused. "Leia"
Ben turned to look at him and nodded, it was strange to hear Hux refer to his mother as his aunt.
"Well at that time I showed no talent of having the Force so Luke didn't really spend time with me and after you were born and showed so much talent, so much power in the Force I didn't feel like anyone cared. Luke didn't do anything with me, auntie Leia was busy taking care of you, uncle Han and uncle Chewie were almost always gone and when they were there you were the center of their attention which makes sense now I guess. That's why I was always mean to you when you came here, sorry about that" Hux says pausing from the story.
Ben nodded understanding, now he knew why Hux always seemed so jealous of him.
"Anyway when you were three I decided to leave I didn't think anyone would miss me so I left, spent a while on my own then the First Order rose from the Empire's ashes and they spoke of peace for the galaxy I thought that sounded like a good idea, the galaxy needed peace so bad. When I joined I started as a apprentice under the first general Hux, that's where I got my name and well he was a pretty evil man, so I killed him one night when I was sixteen" Hux looked down shamefully "then I took his job and I finally felt wanted, needed but then you came to the First Order and Snoke took you as an apprentice and I felt unwanted all over again"
"I'm sorry, Hux... uh... Owen... Snoke tricked us both he made us believe that he wanted us when no one else did, but all he wanted was to use us for our powers. My force abilities, and your military strategy." Ben replied. "To be honest... I always felt that Snoke liked you more because you were so successful and according to him I was nothing but a failure... I guess that he made us both feel that way."
"Just so we would hate the galaxy, each other and our selves" Hux nodded his agreement
Ben nodded, Hux had summed it up perfectly.
