Asami POV
"I hope that old man is happy I won't be able to train at all tonight." I grumble clutching yet another thick stack of documents to my chest. "And on top of that mom is going to kill me. I said I would be home on time tonight!"
I sigh and glance up at the starry sky. Yeah it was that late, to think I started delivering papers at seven this morning. And if you are wondering I did eventually find Iruka-sensei that is after I spent an entire hour searching for him. A yawn left me as I picked up my pace towards the Hokage's office. Many people wonder why I work for the Hokage, waking up at ungodly times to arrive home hours past sun down. Yet I do nothing of a real purpose, I deliver papers to shinobi and other important officials for them to read and discuss. It isn't as though I am learning anything of use unless you consider becoming friends with old prunes useful. In all truthfulness I do it for the status I am considered one of the Hokage's assistants. But also as i grow older I will receive more responsibilities well that and I see the Hokage as a grandpa. That makes me sound like I'm bragging on myself..
Soft humming flowed from me slowly which soon turned into singing.

Feeling eyes boring into my back I slowed my singing and let it fall to a stop as I look behind me with caution. I sigh when I notice nothing and continue on my way now only slightly disturbed. Picking up my pace I fall into a jog and I hear the steady pounding of feet behind me. Stopping quickly I turn and walk back retracing my steps. Stopping yet again I listen closely, a heavy breathing met my ears from a small alleyway. Growling softly I made made my way towards the sound, only to see a figure run and jump onto a nearby roof and begin running across the rooftops. I strained my eyes trying to catch a glimpse of the ninja, but because it was so late I saw nothing. A huff of annoyance left me as I continued on my way. I'll make sure to tell the Hokage about that later. I continue my singing minutes later but upon reaching the Hokage's office I stop and raise my knuckles to the door.
Hearing the traditional 'come in' i enter and slam the large stack onto his desk. "I'm surprised to see you gathered them all in one day." The Hokage chuckled, "Asami you never cease to amaze me."
"Yeah I'm exhausted now though." I breath out as I plop myself down into on of the nearby chairs.
"On your next off day you should actually relax instead of insisting on helping me." The Hokage smiled as he paged through the stack I had just dropped on his desk.
"I like helping though.I prefer knowing I did something useful with my time instead of wasting it." I mumbled resting my chin on my palm.
"Sometimes I think you are to kind for your own good Asami." The Hokage replied shaking his head.
"Sometimes I think that to." I laughed. My eyes quickly drift towards the clock on the wall. 2:36 AM. "Yikes my mom is going to have a fit. She'll probably kill me in the morning."
"Hmm yes it's later than I thought you better be heading home Asami. I apologize for all the work I threw onto you." He muttered eyes flickering over the documents.
"Nah it's fine." I reply waving my hand in a dismissive manner. "When are you planning on heading to bed?" I question rising to my feet.
"I'll go soon don't worry about me." He replied with a small smile as his eyes locked with mine.
A frown made it's way onto my face, "You better it will do you no good to be tired to tomorrow." I order as I grasp the door handle in front of me. "Goodnigh- Well never mind its technically morning so goodmorning." I say throwing a smile over my shoulder.
A soft chuckling reached my ears as I exited the room and began running home.

Heyo! I'm really sorry I haven't updated in forver but a lot has been going on in my life between school, sports, friends, and family.. I hope you understand ^.^. I've been glancing over this story a couple and I have realized just how many mistakes I've mde and how bad I've written some parts and it's enough to make my cringe. So maybe once I'm done with this story and before I move onto Shippuden part I'll go through and change some things. It won't be much different just changing the wordings and things like that. ^_^
