THE FEMALE ALPHA

Chapter Six

I wake up at 6am when my alarm goes off. Today is the day.

I throw away the quilt and slide off the bed.  I walk to the window and open the curtains.  The view of the mountains and the forest looks beautiful from here.
I think about how much I'm going to miss this place.

Daniel walks in my room and gives me a letter to sign.
"Are you ready to leave now Alpha? The driver is already waiting for you. Jade is also downstairs. He's having breakfast with the rest of the pack members. I think you should be present at the dinning room table."

"Thanks Daniel, I'll be there in a few." I say while rushing to the bathroom for a warm shower.
I turn on the shower, relishing the hot water, washing off every dirt.
I take my precious time scrubbing and shaving.  I shampoo and condition then massage my shoulders and exhale deeply as I try to relax. I let the hot water hit my back releasing all tension.
I blow-dry my long Raven black hair thoroughly and remove all knots in it.
Today in particular, I feel very different. Since yesterday, I have not spoken to Jewel and it doesn't feel right. It is as if a part of me was snatched away from me.
Despite that, I need to stay positive.
Today there's going to be a new Demi, a new life. I'm gonna work passionately in Cultrid and I'll free all those werewolves, including my brother.
I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a clean white towel.

I walk to the closet and pick skinny black jeans and a knitted white top with black stripes at the bottom. I pin half of my hair back using a clip then leave the rest.  I get started on make up. I use mascara and eyeliner, the usual.
I throw on my hoodie and head to the dinning room table.

As soon as I am out, I notice Tester standing by the door.
"I'll carry your stuff to the car alpha,"
He gives me a smile then gets into the room.

I head straight to the dinning room table because my tummy is empty.
Everyone is already at the table. I sit down at my usual chair and food is served for me. Bread, toast and orange juice.

Xavier is seated to my right side and I can hear him chuckle endlessly.  Tim is seated next to Xavier and to the far right is Jade.
Daniel is seated at the left side of the table and he's busy flirting with a pretty red haired girl who I had not noticed before. She must be his mate.

"So alpha," Xavier breaks the silence in the room.
"Do you still want to leave us?"
His lips are already forming a smirk as he says that.
"In whatever you do out there, please don't get yourself killed."
At this point everyone is nerversly looking at me . I can feel the tension in the room, it's really thick.

"Come on guys, it's not like I'm going out on a suicide mission without my brains, don't forget I'm the alpha here." I say jokingly then give them a reassuring smile but it's not getting far from a smirk.

"Alpha, just know that you got our full support. Contact me if something goes wrong and I'll be there in a second, you know I'm the strongest here." Tim says while holding up his arms to show the muscle that he got.

"That's bullshit, ain't I the worrior head? What does that sound like to you Tim. I am the best fighter. I'm definitely the one for such a task" That's from Daniel who's already up trying to challenge Tim.

"Heey, do I look like I need any of you guys to  protect me?" I ask sarcastically.

"I'm not weak. It seems like you are forgetting something here. I have and will always take care of myself."
Well, I don't realize it yet till I see everyone's face down in submition. I just used my Alpha tone.

Wow! I'm proud of myself at this point. I don't need the nagging from them, not now especially.

A deafening silent engulfs the room. The only sound that is heard is that of forks, plates and people eating. I can't stop myself from smiling internally. I need this kind of peace, eating my meals peacefully while I still have my appetite.
