Chapter 8 // lies

"Umm..." I didn't think Johnson would do that. I mean I know he doesnt like me but why did he have to tell Sam.

"Why were you with Jack?" Sam said raising his voice.

"We needed t-to talk um.. about our p-project." I stuttered.

I could tell that he knew I was lying. His expression didnt change.

"You stutter when you lie. I know you to well." He had a little smirk. God I hated him.

"I just needed to talk to him." It was weird telling him the truth but it made me feel bad for jack.

"You aren't allowed to see Jack anymore. You can't talk or text him."

"We have to work our project due next week."

"Fine.. you can only talk to him AT SCHOOL and about your project." He said emphasizing 'at school'.

"Why won't you let me hang out with him?!" I waved my hands in the air.

"Your my little sister! I'm suppose to look after you! Jacks a bad influence! He's dated almost every girl at our school. He's a player. He's only being nice to you just for $ex. Then he'll leave you and move on. Don't trust him! Ok? Believe me. If you prove me wrong I'll allow you to hang out with him."

Should I believe him?

"I'll have to think about it. But jack seems so nice and doesn't sound like someone that would do things like that."

"Just trust me." He gave me a hug.

"Your face ok?" I laughed.

"It hurts but I can manage."

"Imma sleep night Sam."

"Night Theresa."

I've been at school for about a month now. There's this new girl I think, her names Andrea (not russet) Shes sorta popular I guess.

"Hey, are you new here?" I said to her walking out of class.

"Um no, I was on a 1 month vacation to Paris with my family." She said with a white girl voice.

I'm not surprised

"Ok?." It was more of a question.

I was about to leave, then I saw jack. He smiled at me.

I waved.

"Hey babe." Andrea said pulling jack into a kiss.

That hurt.

I just decided to walk away.

I was walking out of school when I got a text from matt.

Yes Espinosa.

M- THERESA GUESS WHAT?

M- WAIT DONT.

T- What?

M- IM GONNA BE IN OMAHA FOR 3 MONTHS.

I finally get to see Matt again.

T- Really!? When!?

M- tomorrow 😊

T- awww Matt I can't wait to see you! 💕

We have this weird relationship. We send each other cute texts all the time, cuddle and the normal relationship stuff but we were never a official couple or something.

M- sorry I got to go pack for tomorrow ;) 😘

I was in front of the school when I saw a familiar car out front and someone standing near it.

They were wearing white sunglasses.

Matthew.

I covered my face with my hands and went to him.

He held out his arms for a hug.

"I missed you. That was the longest month ever." Matthew said hugging me tighter.

"I missed you more." I giggled.

"I missed your laugh." He said.

I missed him. Everything about him.

"Theresa who's this?" Sam came up to me and Matt.

"Oh Sam this is Matt-"

"Hey what's up man?!" They did a bro handshake thing.

"How?"

"He's part of Magcon." Sam said.

"Ok cool."

I really didn't care. I was just happy that my best friend was here.

"Hey Matt, Nate's having a party tomorrow night at his place. Want to go with me and the jacks?"

"Yeah sounds great."
