Chapter 7: "Are you sure?"

Logan's POV
It has been over two months since Virgil had moved. I had begun to become depressed because of it. Patton had taken notice to it and would constantly ask if I was okay.

It was 7th period and I had completely zoned out in class which never happens. I was brought out of my 'day dream' when the classroom phone rang. The teacher answered and the class broke out in whispers. I leaned back in my chair, stuffing my hands into the pockets of the hoodie I was wearing, Virgil's of course. The teacher hung up the phone and returned to the front of the class, the whispers stopping.

"Class, you will need to stay here after the bell rings. Stay in your seats until I dismiss you. No one will be allowed to leave this room till I say so." And with that, the lesson continued.

The bell rang and like we were instructed, we stayed in our seats. The teacher stopped teaching and sat at their desk. The class broke out in whispers again. Some people pulling out their phones. I pulled out mine and started to text Patton. I asked him if he was still in class and he said yes. We both equally confused as to what was happening. I looked at the time, 2:53 pm. Virgil would be out of class now (he's an hour ahead of them.) I decide to text him to help pass the time.

Logan: Salutations Virgil.

I wait for a response and after five minutes there's nothing. 'Odd.' Normally Virgil replies quickly. I try not to dwell on it but there's nothing to distract me so I just stare at the message.

Virgil: Hey Lo
Virgil: Why are you on your phone?
Virgil: Aren't you still in class?

I smile as the messages pop up on my screen.

Logan: I am but something isn't right. We aren't allowed to leave the class. I'm still in my 7th period class.

Virgil: Is everything alright?
Virgil: Are you okay??

Logan: I'm fine. I don't know what's going on though.

Virgil: That's a relief. You being okay not the other thing

Logan: I understood what you meant.

Virgil: Okay, I just wasn't sure. Is Patton okay?

Logan: From when I last texted him, he's alright.

Virgil: That's good
Virgil: I have news tho

Logan: What is it? Also, can you please use the full word instead of the short form?

Virgil: I'll try to
Virgil: Anyways, I'm coming back for a week! I have a break off school for a week so I convinced my dad to come visit you guys!!

I smiled even more knowing I'd finally be able to see my boyfriend after two months apart.

Logan: That's amazing news Virge! I can't wait to see you!

Virgil: I'm so excited to see you!!
Virgil: I really miss ❤

Logan: I miss you too dear. ❤

We continued to text for awhile until the teacher called for the class' acknowledgment.

"You are all excused" They said, the class packing up and leaving.

The halls were felt different. Like something bad had happened or was going to. Everyone was quiet, scared to even speak a whisper.

I found Patton outside and walked him to his bus asking him if he knew anything and telling him what Virgil told me.
