They stand at the center of the now empty arena side by side, bodies bloodied and bruised to the point that it was hard to distinguish between their own blood and that of others.

David had just shot  his last arrow into IIsuperwomanII's chest, leaving him and Jschlatt to be the only survivors. He's smiles, throwing a fist in the air as he turns to Jschlatt " We've done it! We've won!" But quickly remembers that  that isn't the case at all.

Never did Jschlatt think he'd befriend someone like David Dobrik; they were truly nothing alike. Jschlatt is a streamer who became popular on youtube for playing on a friends minecraft server and David is an ex-vine star turned daily vlogger who  gives away Teslas for views.

Neither of them liked each other, in fact David had no idea who Jschlatt was when they first met and Jschlatt assumed David  was an annoying, self-centered diva of sorts. As they trained they  were forced to get to know one another and help each other through the process, the training for the games was insane and David is sure he wouldn't have been able to get through it without Jschlatt by his side.

Things happened, time went on, emotions were high. They got close, David was closer to Jschlatt than he'd been with anyone else; as a youtuber you  learn to not make any connections as you  don't know if you're even going to be alive in the next three years. It's not worth it. That all goes out the door when you actually have been chosen; everyone is in the same situation as you, you have no reason to restrain yourself.

Jschlatt doesn't know when these emotions first appeared, the line between minor despise and butterflies is blurred into a confusing gradient of emotions, but i can tell you when it happened.

Their trainer, Howie Mandel,  had forced them to climb  one of the tallest cliff faces in America. By the time  David had reached the top Jschlatt was about to faint,  so david offered a hand and although Jschlatt was reluctant he took it. David pulled the other up, falling backwards in the process, accidentally pulling the other on top of him. They stared at one another for what felt like minutes, smiling before snapping back to reality and jumping up to celebrate their win much like David is- or just was.

Jschlatt takes David's hand, an empty look on his face- David's expression drops. There can only be one.

All of their training, all of their love... it led up to this moment- neither of them had stopped to think about what'd happen if it came down to them,  to be fair neither of them thought they'd survive the first 10 minutes.

"I can't- i won't-" David's voice sounds like a desperate scream, tears leave his eyes and he mumbles between sobs. " I lo-"

Jschlatt cuts him off with a soft kiss to the lips, they hadn't kissed before this time although they'd gotten really close. David leans in to the kiss, his mind wiped of the distress and the only thing bouncing around being  thoughts of  how sweet Jschlatt tastes.

Jschlatt pulls apart from David,  holding  the other's hand with his left, his  soft expression quickly dropping, turning blank and cold. It's almost unnerving,  David doesn't understand why the other isn't upset as he is.

Finally, Jschlatt speaks.

"There's really just one thing that we have in common. Neither of us will be missed. "

Jschlatt recoils his right hand, in it he holds a knife- with one fatal swoop he slices David's throat. David drops to the floor, squirming around as he reaches for his throat, tears welling in his eyes. He only lays there, staring at the man he loved and trusted as he fades into the light.

Jschlatt left the stadium without an ounce of regret, taking out the cash prize and living the rest of his life as if nothing happened. It's business, baby.
