(Chapter 5)(letters)

(Jewels p.o.v)

I sat at my writing desk.

Dear, Brant

I thought I'd right to you first, because this may or may not get to you, but I have wonderful news in my eyes it's wonderful and I've not told anyone ; I'm with child and it's yours, I hope you want this baby; but I hope your doing well and keep your promise , that someday you'll return. I hope you still love me as much as still love you. Brant I hope you get everything straightened out over in the indian territory , keep safe darlin' , and again I love you.

Sincerely ,
Your Jewels

I folded the paper up and put it in an envelope to send to him.
I closed the envelope carefully and sprayed it with my favorite perfume that I had wore the time we had made love. I sent it his way.

(Brants p.o.v)

I was riding through the indian territory . An Indian male was on a horse riding beside me .
He was a translator, he spoke Comanche and English .
"Sir , letter has come". He says.
I nodded. I took the letter politely. "Jewels". I whisper.
"Woman?" He asked . "Yeah". I say smelling her perfume on the envelope . Damn it smelled so good and so real that I could feel her arms again.
I opened it and a picture was in there of her. "Woman beautiful". The native says.
"Yeah she is". I say to myself.
"What's your name anyway?" I asked him.
"Honiahaka". He says. "Oh , thanks for the letter". I say. "Hm". He says acknowledging that I had thanked him.

I opened the letter and began reading it. I read then I saw the words

I'm with child and it's yours

I smiled, "good news come?" My native friend asked. "Yeah, I'm gonna be a father". I say smiling.
"First little bird ". He asked. I nodded. "Hm, is not easy, but much pride come with child". He says. "Thanks ". I say. "Hm" he says again. It was the typical response from natives a simple grunt or hum from them as an acknowledgement.
