Drishti Khanna: Vikas's elder daughter and Nitya's stepdaughter, Divya and Romi's elder stepsister, Gauri's best friend, one of Bollywood's top actresses. Apart from all her sorrows, her greatest sorrow is never receiving a mother's love as her mother died as soon as she was born and Nitya was always partial to her. Something that happened five years back shook her entire world for the worse.

Rakshit Shergill: Chetan and Mahima's son, Shikhar's elder brother, Raj's best friend and boss, One of the best business tycoons of India. He was always arrogant and rude but something that happened five years back made him become ruder to hide his sorrow or rather his guilt.

Divya Khanna: Vikas and Nitya's daughter, Romi's elder sister, Drishti's younger stepsister. She has just finished her college and started modeling, wants to become just like her sister who is also her role model. She loves her sister more than anything else in the world, to her she is her mother and she can give her life or take anyone else's for her. whatever her mother does or tells her has never decreased her love for her.

Shikhar Shergill: Younger son of Chetan and Mahima, Rakshit's younger brother. He is currently the CEO of Rakshit's company. He loves his family and brother a lot and genuinely wants someone to come into his brother's life who can change him.

Gauri Gupta: Drishti's personal manager, best friend and is more like a sister to her. Hails from a very poor background and is grateful to Drishti's father for sponsoring her and giving her single mother a job, she grew up with Drishti, Divya, and Romi. Is very protective about Drishti just like Divya, Romi, and Vikas after the incident that happened five years back although all of them have no idea what had happened except for the fact that it shook Drishti's life forever.

Raj Shergill: Rakshit's best friend and business partner, is an orphan but was adopted and brought up by Mahima and Chetan. He loves his family and his brothers a lot but is afraid of Rakshit's sudden outburst, he also wants someone to come in Rakshit's life and make him happy.

Romi Khanna: Vikas and Nitya's son, Divya's younger brother, Drishti's younger stepbrother. He is still studying in college. He loves both his sisters a lot but does not share the bond that they share.

Vikas Khanna: Drishti, Divya and Romi's father, Nitya's husband, is the owner of a chain of hotels across the world and is a great chef. Loves his children and Gauri who is also more like a daughter to him more than anything else in the world but had to be both mother and father for Drishti as Nitya was always partial to her. He tried a lot to find out what happened to Drishti five years but was unable to. Want's a life partner for Drishti who loves as much as he does but most importantly he doesn't want a mother-in-law for her but wants a mother who could give her the love that she always yearned for.

Nitya Khanna: Divya and Romi's mother, Vikas's second wife, Drishti's stepmother, was married by Vikas so that his daughter would get the love of a mother but she was never able to accept Drishti as her own daughter and is constantly worried that Vikas would write his property on Drishti's name. Is jealous of the fact that Divya loves Drishti more than her and considers her as her mother, no matter whatever she does Divya would never turn against Drishti and instead would turn against her, her own mother who gave her life!

Mahima Shergill: Rakshit and Shikhar's mother, Chetan's wife, Raj's adoptive mother. She is a loving and caring mother who loves her children very much including Raj. She had the wish to have a baby daughter when she was married, a daughter who would always be by her side but was saddened when she did not have one. Chetan consoled her saying that when they'd marry they will be like her daughters but she always wondered even if she accepted her daughter-in-law as her daughter, would she accept her as her mother?

Chetan Shergill: Rakshit and Shikhar's father, Mahima's husband, Raj's adoptive father. Loves all his children equally including Raj. He is constantly worried about Rakshit who is very short-tempered, he wants a girl to enter his life who would teach him to be calm and patient.
