The day went painfully slow until the last bell rang, finally - being kind enough, to give us the permission to go home.
as I pushed my last book into my bag, I could feel a presence just above my head, I didn't even have to look up to see who it was knowing for sure it was Mia, eagerly waiting to finally go home and start the tutoring deal I promised her – I teach her math, and in return she drives me home every day so I won't have to take the bus. Although it was obvious I would tutor her anyway and she would drive me home with nothing in return, we like to base our friendship on give-and-take for some odd reason.

"c'mon Chloe, you're slow as a turtle!" she whined as I finally stood up with my bag on my back.

I rolled my eyes, "and you're eager as a rabbit" I shot back.

"just come on!" she mumbled, grasping my wrist in her hand as we both made our way out of class, "I have trust issues with math because whenever I think I solve the problem, I see that I am totally wrong and right now, you're the only person that keeps me going with this love-hate relationship thing" she rumbled as we stepped out thru the double doors, shoulder bumping other students on our way to Mia's car.

To be honest, I am really jealous at Mia, she already have her driving license and her own car, she's so confident and doesn't really give a dam about people looking at her with rose eyebrows and she's incredibly beautiful, rejecting boys left and right because she can without regretting it because the next guy will probably be better.

Don't forget you have a date tonight with one heck of a cute guy that consider you as beautiful as your singing.

My inner voice seemed to step in, making me feel much more relieved and shake most of my insecurities off my shoulders.

"Did you record the song you sang in the music room?" Mia asked as soon as we closed the doors of her car.

I nodded with a smile, "yeah! Do you wanna hear it?" I asked already taking my phone out and plugging it into her car's stereo.

"Play it girl!" she chuckled getting out of her parking spot.

I went thru all of the music in my iPhone until I reached the last recording I did back at the music room, the music room being a music room has a better acoustic than a bathroom, so it sounded like a recording, but much more similar to something you'll do in a recording studio.

'There was a time
I used to look into my father's eyes…'

"aww I love this song!" Mia smiled as she turned it up a little bit, "you sound great Chloe, your voice is so perfect" she said in awe.

I smiled, feeling my cheeks getting warmer, but not because of Mia's compliment, but because of what happened in the music room after I finished playing the song. I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to the memory of Liam's words slipping off his full kissable pink lips and to his beautiful blue eyes that mirrored this attractive confidence as he spoke the words that made the wall of ice around my heart to melt away in less than 10 seconds.
The way this smug smile came across his lips when knowing he had me and my attention, this smug smile actually gave me butterflies to the point it hurt, but let's put the cards on the table – I really don't care.

"god" I heard Mia mumble, jumping a little at the sudden off key that stop the song mid-way.

And that's when I snapped out of my thoughts, suddenly my heart started thumping against my chest, realizing, I never finished the song, my mind threw me back to the events in the music room as I knew exactly what's coming next, "I think we should unplug it now, as you see the song is over" I, nervously, tried to reach for my phone, but Mia slapped my hand away the moment she started hearing something other than my voice singing her favorite song.
