Prologue.

Years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds. Five minutes and fifty-nine seconds. I didn't think I'd ever die like this, bleeding in a side street in Dayton, the ghetto time zone. I groan as I try to move my body, but I find that I can't move it. I sigh and collapse onto the floor once more, I have no chance. I didn't have enough time to get to someone who'd give me time to live on also even if I did get time I'd most likely die from the injuries I had gained from the run in of a group of minute men who were after the timekeeper who'd been speaking to me moments before they found him. Instead of leaving me be, and seeing that I had no connection to the timekeeper, they chose to knock me over my head, making me pass out, then killing the timekeeper which I was talking to. My hearing slowly comes through and I hear a few people speaking between each other, most likely the minute men.
"we'll wait for Fortis before we decide what to do with the timekeeper and woman." one says.
"why wait for Fortis? He'll take all the time for himself! Why don't we just take it now?" another voice says sharply.
"cause he'll find out one way or another that we took the time for ourselves. Then we'll be in it deep... Idiot." the first voice grumbles back.
I could hear a grunt, that must've been the other man trying to argue back even through he properly knew the other mans logic was sound. Why am I here? Why haven't they killed me yet? Oh yeah they'll have to take my time first. That reminds me, I glance down at my clock checking again.

That Fortis guy better hurry up and take my time soon or they'll be nothing left to take. How stupid could minute men be? Wouldn't it be smart to check how much time there victims had left before trying to take it, 'cause it might not be worth the hassle to take it if they have near to nothing left; such as myself. Not look ago I was in New Greenwich, the land of the rich and immortal, and partying in all my hearts desire. But then that was before I decided that my life didn't have enough edge to it, so I chose to go down in a few time zones to discover the lives of the people who lived there. In a matter of months I became part of the ghetto, living on a day to day basis as the other people around me did. But them again instead if timing out if I didn't have enough time to pay for rent, I just went to the bank and withdrew money from my fathers account, which had enough time to last me a few life times and more.
"Fortis, we got him as you asked." one of the men said, snapping me out of my day dream.
I strain my ears to hear foot steps in the gravel of the floor, tilting my head I see three pairs of legs. Two clad in jeans whilst one pair in a pair of suit pants, someone seemed it live the high life. Very much like myself back in New Greenwich.
"well done boys, time him out..." Fortis began, in a thick English accent. It had been a long time since I had heard a true English accent, it had to be back in New Greenwich at least. He paused before continuing. "and what do we have here?"
"we found her speaking to the timekeeper, boss." one of the men said.
Fortis chuckled, before walking towards me and bending down to my level. I drank in his image, his slicked back blonde hair and strong jaw line. His slender lips pulling off a perfectly sculpted smirk, a smirk which he must've practiced in front of the mirror every night just to perfect it and make sure it was the last time his victims ever saw. I smirk myself, which makes confusion flood into his eyes, I look down at my forearm.

"just over a minute left, is it really worth it?" I mumble at the minute men leader.
As I mumble Fortis looks down at my forearm. "you do make a point there."
"well give a girl a dying wish, let me have at least thirty seconds to remiss about the parts of my life that I'll miss." I smile slightly, trust me to ask for a dying wish off a minuteman such as Fortis.
"well, love, I don't know." Fortis begins rolling up his sleeve and he grasps my forearm. "how about I give you a day to remiss about them?" he says before turning my arm so my forearm was above his own. I watch as my clocks numbers go up and up. He stopped as my clock read a whole day, I gasp quietly.
Fortis stands upright rolling his sleeve down. "What's your name, love, I'm Fortis but you properly knew that already." he smirks once more, most likely at my reaction of him giving me the time.
I smirk before answering. "Just call me 'the princess of china'." I say remembering about my favourite song from the 2010's period.
Fortis smirks slightly he nods. "well I'll see you soon, princess. I'll come back for that day at some point, just remember that." he narrows his eyes slightly at the end before turning and leaving me on the gravel, his goons leaving with him.
I sigh and my heavy eyelids made my world go black.
