Lance McClain is the straight person of the group, yes, Lance McClain is straight and his friends aren't. Pidge, she's acesexual. Hunk, he's pansexual. Shiro and Keith are gay. Lance was happy for his friends, he's happy that they came out to him. He himself didn't think that he likes the same sex, he just didn't see it. He has told his friends that he's an ally, he is not homophobic and he supports and protects them. Lance is not curious about his sexuality, he had made up his mind a long time ago.

Keith Kogane, he's gay and has a massive crush on his friend Lance McClain. Everyone knows about it except Lance himself. Keith has hidden it for years, everyone went to school with each other since grade four. They've known each other for a very long time, they're in their final year of high school. Keith decided its time to tell Lance the truth, that he likes him. Keith knows he's probably in love. Keith just likes how cheerful Lance is, he can make anyone happy. He likes how Lance is very kind and can wear a smile confidently, Keith likes the tiny things about Lance. He pays attention to the smallest things; like how Lance play fights with his friends, he tells the truth and never lies, he likes how smart Lance is, he loves his laugh and kind heart. The list can continue, Keith had decided he'll see if he loves Lance after he confesses.

"Hey Lance, can we talk in private for a second?" Keith asks quietly while holding onto Lance's sleeves. Lance turns to him with curiosity but nods. The two make their way into Keith's room quietly, so their friends don't notice that they've disappeared.

"What's up? You barely ask to talk in private, something wrong?" Lance asks hesitantly after entering Keith's room, Keith only takes a deep breath before turning to face his crush.

"Lance, you don't have to say anything about what I have to say. I just really need to get this off my chest." Keith admits, he's ready for his heartbreak.

"What's wrong Keith? You look scared." Keith only looks Lance in the eye for a split second before turning away quickly, Keith can't look at his face right now. He moves to sit on his bed and he looks down at his lap.

"Lance, I-I like you romantically. I like you a lot, but I know you're straight." Keith already can tell his answer, he can sense Lance's nervousness.

"K-Keith, I-" Keith only takes another breath, waiting for the painful sentence, "I think we should stay being friends." Keith's heart breaks, but he saw it coming. He finally looks up at Lance and his heart hurts even more.

"I don't think..." Keith now knows what to do, "I don't think we can stay friends..." He says above a whisper, Lance's eyes widen at his words.

"Can you get out of my room? I want to be alone right now." Keith commands quietly while walking across his room, opening the door for him. "Keith did I hurt you? I'm sorry I just wanted to tell the truth-" Lance gets cut off my a stressed Keith, "Just tell them I was tired and headed to bed early, and please keep this a secret." Keith whispers while not even looking Lance at all, Lance hates to see Keith hurt and especially when it was his fault.

"Keith..." Lance whispers back, Keith looks at him with watery eyes, "Get out." Lance listens to his words and he leaves, Keith slowly closes the door and he finally can cry. He saw this coming, 'Why am I crying? I saw this coming! Why am I crying so much?', he thinks to himself.

"I love him..." Keith cries out before he leans against the door, he slides down the door and onto the floor. He cries into his arms, he is heartbroken that his love didn't love him back. His first true heartbreak...

Over the next few weeks, Keith doesn't hang out with anyone except his brother Shiro and his husband Adam. He's been distancing himself from everyone, he's been making excuses on why he can't hang out. He's been recently playing his guitar more than he has in the past, and Shiro notices. He notices that his behaviour changed as well, he notices that Keith hardly ever smiles anymore, and that he rarely leaves his room. Shiro can't help but wonder what happened to him, so today he decides to confront him.
