We landed on this pile of ice and dust expecting to find something that would advance our scientific knowledge, but what we actually found was something that scared us even more, something that scientists dreaded more than anything else.
We thought the asteroid would bring us new data about the origins of solar system, some idea of how life came to this planet. We didn’t find any heavy elements or water; what we found was life, in the most familiar sense.
At the centre of the ice and the dust was a living human, predating everything in our solar system.
