*Adam's pov

"You okay man?" Matt asked. I looked at him without seeing him, "Tiffany's gone" I mumbled. It finally sunk in, she was gone, the mother of my child, an amazing friend. "Shit what can we do?" He asked. "I don't know Gianna and Gabby are on their way, they should be here just before the concert starts. Can you make sure someone gets them? I need to call Tiffany's parents. I don't know who they are but I gotta find them and tell them" I said leaving the room and finding a quiet place where I could think alone. I sat on the floor and thought, what do I know about her? She's from Florida originally and according to Gabby her parents are still there. Her last name is Black. Is that enough though? I sighed and called information. "State?" "Florida" I said. "City?" "Unknown" "name or business" "Tiffany Black" "one moment please." The line was silent a moment and then it rang. I prayed her parents would answer. "Hello?" A voice said on the other line after what felt like forever. "Hello is this Mrs. Black?" I asked. "Yes" she said. "Tiffany's mother, Gabby's grandmother?" I asked just to be sure. "Who is this?" She asked sounding nervous. "My name is Adam Levine. I know your daughter, well I used to I haven't seen her in many years. Anyway she came out to LA and we met up. I'm Gabby's father" I said. "And?" She said. "Ma'am I'm really sorry, but your daughter was kidnapped by her ex boyfriend" I started. "Tiffany! Oh my God is she okay? Is Gabby okay?" She asked panicked. "Gabby's fine Mrs. Black" "what about Tiffany?" "Ma'am she was murdered. He's in custody though and there is no way he'll be getting out" I assured her.

She cried for several minutes before speaking, "so what now? You're going to take my granddaughter away and leave me with nothing?" She asked angrily. "No ma'am that's not my intention but I am leaving this decision up to Gabby, she has the right to choose where she wants to be. I don't think either one of us should force her one way or the other. This was meant to be a day trip just to meet me but turned into several days because she refused to leave until she got word about Tiffany. It's only fair she decides her future" I said. I heard her sigh, "yes of course I suppose. Is she alright?" She asked. "She's pretty torn up about it. She's flying out with my wife to meet up with me" I said. "Meet up with you?" She asked. "I'm touring at the moment. Gabby was going to fly out to come to a show and then meet my wife's family but things got switched around because of all of this" I said. Her sigh told me she was annoyed but there wasn't much she could do. We talked for a few more minutes and hung up. "Adam?" Shawn said walking in. "I need to cancel tomorrow" I said. "You can't Adam you know that it's too early in the tour and your schedule doesn't allow for cancelations" he said, "you have the 15th off deal with it all then" he said. I groaned and picked up the phone to call my mom. She'd help with all of this, she's good with stuff like this. "Hi mom" I said. "I sweetheart, how are you?" She asked. "Good, listen can you and dad fly out to New York so we can all talk on the 15th?" "Sure but what's going on?" She asked. "I'll explain when your here. I just really need you mom" I said. "Anything for you baby" she said. "Thanks mom" I said. We talked about tour and Gianna and the baby before hanging up.

"Adam chill you're gonna lose it!" James said his hand on my shoulder. "I can't until they're here. Gabby's a mess and I'm not there. She's my daughter and I'm not there. What kind of father am I?" I asked. "A good one that is working to support his wife and kids" Mickey reminded me. Gianna walked in then and smiled brightly at me. "Adam must we have this discussion daily? You're a great dad" she said. I pulled her close kissing her. "How is she?" I asked noticing she wasn't with her. "Shawn is showing her to the ladies room so she can wash her face before she sees you. She wants you to think she's strong like you" she said. I smiled a little and saw her walk in, my beautiful 10 year old daughter. "Hi sweetheart" I said. She ran and hugged me burying her face in my chest. This is a good sign, she trusts me, she can lean on me. This is good... Right? I wrapped my arms around her enjoying the moment. "We'll give you guys a minute" Sam said ushering everyone out of the room. We stayed like that a few more minutes before pulling away and sitting on the couch. "What now?" She asked her voice on the edge of crying again. "You tell us, what do you want Gabby? Do you want to stay with us or go back to your grandparents? It's up to you, we can't force you to stay or go" I said. "What do you want?" She asked. "All that's important is what you want right now" I said. She stood up angrily, "I want you to want me! To beg me to stay! To care and not just spend money on me because you feel bad! I want to be wanted and loved! I want you to love me! I want my mom back!" She said breaking down. I pulled her close, "I do want you, since the day you called Gianna and told her you were my daughter I wanted you. I was scared out of my mind but I wanted you, I want you! I'm not spending money because I feel bad, I'm doing it because right now where you are you have nothing and I want to give you the world! I'm no good at expressing myself and even worse at expressing myself to kids, but I love you Gabby and I would do anything for you. I can't bring your mom back but I can be here for you" I said.

She looked at me, "you're just saying that" she said wiping her eyes. "I mean it from the bottom of my heart, I want you here with us forever but if it's not what you want I don't want to make you unhappy, even if you leaving makes me unhappy." She watched me closely, "do you Gianna?" She asked. She looked at her lovingly, "I do Gabby. You are such a sweet girl and it would make me very happy if you stayed" Gianna said brushing Gabby's hair aside, "you deserve to be happy and you should do anything you need to be happy" she said. "I'd like to stay" Gabby said. I pulled her close holding her, my daughter, reassuring her, "then you'll stay" I said kissing her head. "What about my grandparents though? And.... Mom? Where is she..." She cried again. "We can call them and talk. And we can discuss where to..." I couldn't say it but she knew. Gabby calmed down and I gave her my phone to call her grandparents. "Do you want us to stay here?" I asked. She nodded dialed walking to the far end of the room.

*Gabby's pov

I walked to the far side of the room. I wanted privacy but I still wanted Adam and Gianna there. "Hi Grammy" I said when she answered. "Gabby, my baby!" She said happily. "How are you Grammy?" I asked. "Good sweetheart, good. How are you?" She asked. I sighed, "mom's dead" I said trying to be strong. "I know dear, your dad called me a little while ago" she said. I glared at him. "Of course he did" I said. "Don't be mad dear" she said. I sighed, "Grammy I'm really calling because, I wanna stay with Adam and Gianna" I said. "I had a feeling" she said sadly. "I'm sorry Grammy." "Don't be sweetie. I understand, mom and I knew this could happen, I just wish she was here." "Me too" I said wiping my eyes. "Do you want her there?" I asked without thinking. "What! No dear you need her there" she said. "Okay, will you visit soon?" I asked. "Once you all settle down and everything for the funeral is set" she said. I nodded "okay" I said. We were both silent for a while, "I should go" I said finally. "Alright sweetie, call me anytime you need to." "I will, I love you Grammy." "I love you too" she said and we hung up. I looked back at Adam and Gianna. Adam was holding her in his lap kissing her. They looked so happy. Adam kissed her belly making her smile down at him adoringly. It was so easy to see how much they loved each other. They are literally perfect for each other. Adam looked up then and his smile fell a little. "You are alright sweetheart?" He asked. The worry was evident and I realized my lip was trembling. Gianna pushed back on the couch and Adam came over pulling me to him. "It's okay Gabby, I promise. I'm here for you, we all are" he said. "All?" I asked my voice shaking. "Yes, Gianna, me, the guys, my family, Gianna's family, we are all here for you" he said.

I stared, "but your families don't even know me and the guys met me for 10 minutes" I said not understanding. "Doesn't matter, we love you" he said motioning between him and Gianna, "and the guys and our families will do anything and everything to protect you" he said. "Hell yea we will" James said pushing the door open. I looked up at him and realized just how little I was. I was one of the shortest 10 year olds in my grade. "Why?" I asked once all the guys were, once again, surrounding the room and commanding all the attention I had. "Because you're Adam's daughter, and that makes you family" Sam said. "On the road all you have is each other, and writing all those days and nights, I see these guys more than my family most of the time" Matt said. "We protect our family and now you are a part of that family" Mickey said. I smiled and nodded. They all went about their business then and Gianna called her mom. "So pit or backstage tonight?" Adam asked sitting beside me, his cocky smile, shining bright. It's funny how magazines make him out to be someone so worthless, when they really don't know him at all. Now I knew why mom always laughed at those stupid magazines. "Backstage, I don't want to go out there" I said, "not now." He nodded and we relaxed that way until he went out for the show.

*from now on the story will be Gianna and Adam and their story. Gabby will still be there but not her perspective*
