I know this is a short icky awful disgusting chapter I just really needed one to lead into the next one :) xx
*Skip's Point of View*
I sat silently in my bed. It was pretty quiet. My parents spent the entire day with me yesterday. Through meds, physical therapy, meals. I was ready for some people my own age, so I wasn't surprised when Jai, Luke, and James walked in a little after lunch.
"Hey, guys. What's up?" I asked, sitting up and dragging my body off the bed so my legs swung over the edge. James helped me into my wheelchair, which is embarrassing by the way, and I got my legs situated.
The doctor said that I'd regain feeling in a few days and by the end of next week be walking again. I've been trying to figure out how to maneuvere without help and I guess it's been going pretty well.
Today, the doctor told me I could have a day off and stay home, so I chose to go to the Brooks' house with the guys. Beau obviously wasn't gonna be there...but it's nice to not think about all that for a while.
But no, Jai decides to immediately ask the wrong question as we walked out.
"So Skip, Sar said you didn't wanna hang out with her at all? What's up with that?"
I sighed. "I love her."
"No shit, man." Luke said.
"Well it fucking sucks to even look at her and remind myself that she's not in love with me. She used all that girly bullshit on me like "I'm still in love with you" and "You'll find someone" but it's not true." I said, sour.
"Whatever, mate. You've gotta get her outta your head." he said. "We'll find someone for ya once you're walking again. "
"Guys, I'm not really in the mood right now." I said in realization. I didn't want to talk to anyone. At all. "Maybe you should take me back to the hospital. Might as well."
"Damn, Skip. What's up with you?" asked James. "You're gonna find someone."
I rolled my eyes. I didn't feel like doing anything with Sara on my mind.
"Just take me back."
*Sara's Point of View*
"Beau, I'm nervous." I murmured as we walked down the road. "I've never even done a job interview before."
"Babe, it'll be fine. I've already planned it all out. I'll tell my manager that I'd like to step up in the business eventually, so she'll let me interview you."
"I thought you said she was super strict."
"Sar, it's fine. I'll just pretend to ask you some questions when I 'interview' you and I'll hire you and show you how everything works."
"Fine." I mumbled. It was a fairly thought out plan, so I went with it.
Here we are, the bakery. Beau cassualy walked in as I waddled in behind.
"Hey Nancy!" he shouted out.
A middle aged woman with red curly hair stepped out. "Beau? Well aren't you early. Your shift doesn't start for a half hour."
"I know, I just wanted to show you someone that I think could really help out here." he said, looking at me.
"Hi!" I said. "I'm Sara."
Beau continued as Nancy looked me down. "I was thinking maybe I could interview her today."
"Beau," she snapped. "just because you're here early doesn't give you special privelages. Get to work. I'll interview her."
