(^ Picture of Jade)
(Yael's P.O.V)
I was rushed into a large white room full of tables and curtains. I was set down on the closest bed."Doc, I need you!" The guy yelled. An older looking man in white came running over.
"She's seriously wounded, I'm surprised she's even alive!" He explained.
"Okay, I'll take a look." The 'doctor' said. He came over to me and I recoiled back from his extending hand.
"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." He said softly, looking my in my eyes. I searched his deep brown ones and all I found was concern. I felt I could trust him.
I hesitantly let him look at me, he examined every inch of my body, pressing on my stomach and asking where it hurt."She's got three broken ribs, she ripped a muscle in her arm, and her ankle is severely sprained. However, she's healing at an alarming rate, whatever she is, she has fast healing capabilities. Her ribs are already putting themselves back together, I won't need to do anything. Let her rest, give her food and water. Her body is doing all of the work, it's like she has our regenerative powers only doubled-no quadrupled!" He explained.
"Okay, thank you." The guy said.
"I suggest figuring out what she is, her wings suggest she's not a werewolf nor a human." The 'doctor' replied.
The guy nodded and then picked me up again, holding me in his arms. I flinched but allowed him to do so, gently resting my head on his shoulder. I felt safe with him, for some reason. We walk down a hallway and then I'm placed on a couch.
Another guy comes in, and I cower backwards, now that all of the adrenaline is gone, my fears came back."He's not going to hurt you," The man assured,"who are you?"
I could ask you the same thing. I thought. I didn't respond to his question though.
"Okay.... well then we will introduce ourselves first. I'm Jade, part of the royal packs. My father is the alpha to the crescent pack, I'm the prince. That over there is Jonathan, he's my second in command. My best friend." He smiles, gesturing over to another guy who was watching silently in the corner.
He was nice, it was like I could believe he wouldn't hurt me. But, I didn't know if that was true yet.
"I-.," I stuttered,"I'm Yael."
His smile brightened, it was like hearing my voice was the best thing in the world to him. I frowned slightly, I thought about talking to him.
He hasn't done anything to me yet, maybe I can think he won't do anything to me at all.. I wondered.I bit my lip, going over what I want to ask in my head before saying it.
"W..-where am I?" I asked, hugging my knees to my chest.
"You're in the pack house of the Crescent Pack." He answered simply. I didn't know if he'd get mad if I asked another question, so I took a shot in the dark, expecting the worst.
"Where are those big wolves?" I peered around and I didn't see them, but they must be somewhere in this huge house.
He looked at me quizzically, but then he had a face that said "oh, I know what your talking about", so I assumed he knew what I was inquiring.
"They are around." He chuckled to himself.
I frowned, I didn't see what was so funny because those wolves could eat me alive.
I hope they are trained. I thought bitterly."Do you mind if I ask you a question?" He smiled, his eyes were filled with hope, and I found myself melting at his smile. I nodded.
He beamed at me, but I was too nervous to pay too much attention to it.
"I'm sorry if this offends you, but I want to know what you are exactly. You don't look like a human."
I flash-backed to the pain I felt when I hit the ground, but I don't recall anything before the fall. I harshly bit my lip, drawing blood as I remembered the amount of agony that rushed through my body with each twitch of the muscle.
Tears started to form in my eyes, I would never wish that pain upon anyone else in my life. It was torturous, every movement sent a line of fire shooting through my bones. Every step I took left me agonizing, I even begged for death at one point. I didn't answer Jade's question, I was too traumatized by the fall. I couldn't answer his question.
The tears streamed down my face, and I felt the drops hit my hands as I cried. I flinched when Jade gently cupped my face, his face was full of worry and concern. I've seen that look on his face a lot, through the few hours I've known him.
"Shhh, it's okay. I won't ask again. For now why don't you rest?" He cooed, he silently held me close and rubbed circles on my back.
It was calming, and soon enough I found myself drifting off into a dreamless sleep. However, I did hear him say something before I sunk into the abyss.
"God, what are you, my little mate?"———————————————————————————
Okay, let me explain something before people get confused in the next chapter..
Yael gets little snippets of what she used to feel like in heaven. She can't see other people or buildings in these snippets, all she gets is feelings and stuff.
