Shaun

It was time that Pax and I communicated with each other and came to an understanding. With everything we both went through, the last thing we need is miscommunication between each other.

We sat on my couch and talked.

"Your dad came to see me," I said.

Pax looked at me with confusion.

"Lex explained to me that when you love someone, you love them unconditionally. Then he told me about what happened to your mom and him in a car accident. It put a lot of things into perspective for me," I explained.

"What was that?" Pax asked me.

"That I don't want to lose you, and I don't want you to feel you can't talk to me about your feelings. Your dad also explained that out of you and your brothers, you think people care more about your brothers than you," I answered.

Pax opened his mouth, then closed it.

"Talk to me, Pax," I coaxed.

"It's difficult because no one ever talks to me. People talk at me or down to me," Pax said, shrugging.

"Then tell me about your feelings and fears. I want to know," I replied.

Pax stood up and started pacing as I watched him.

"When I realized I was gay, it terrified me. Then, when you called me names, it hurt my feelings. I had this insane crush on you and got crushed. When Parker brought you home, you made this effort with me. I thought cool, but then you left for college and tossed me away. Do you know what it's like not to talk about your hurt?" Pax asked, stopping.

I looked at Pax with empathy.

"My family thought I should understand about your situation, and every time I attempted to show affection, you rejected me. Then, when I did something, you looked at me with disappointment. I can't win with you, Shaun," Pax admitted to me.

Pax was angry with me, and I didn't make it easy on him.

"Rejection is a bitch, and I feel as if I'm the biggest bitch out there," Pax huffed.

I stood up and looked at Pax. "Then get angry with me," I said.

"What?" Pax questioned with a confused look.

"Get angry, show me how pissed you are at me," I demanded.

Pax stood there.

I pressed him as I walked towards Pax. "Show me! Yell, scream, but do something!" I barked.

"You want me to show you!" Pax yelled.

"That's what I said!" I yelled back.

"Fine!" Pax shouted. He shoved me as I stepped back, gaining my balance. "I hate you! You make me feel crazy! You broke my heart! Why? Why did you break my heart? What did I do to you? Why can't you love me?" Pax screamed as he hit me repeatedly, letting his anger out.

I let Pax unleash his anger as I stood my ground but didn't retaliate. Pax wasn't hurting me, as Travis did. He was angry, but deep down, he wouldn't harm me how Travis did.

I wrapped my arms around Pax as he stopped fighting. He buried his face into my chest and trembled as I held Paxton. It was difficult for Paxton to be honest with someone.

I rubbed Paxton's back, comforting him. He finally stopped shaking as I offered comfort.

"I'm sorry, Pax. I didn't mean to break your heart. It's the last thing I wanted to do to you. I didn't understand until your dad explained it to me," I reasoned.
