It was a late autumn evening, warm, but had a slight breeze to the night. I sighed quickly, but it was intterupted with a shudder. I raised a brow at myself, confused as to why I would have shuddered, my sweater was more than warm. But none the less I stood awkardly by the High School a block away from mine. 'I am meeting a girl!' I had thought to myself, the walk over, to now. I stood there, staring at my phone screen, returning a text to my mother.
*Will be home at nine. Lots of love!*
I instantly chuckled when my mother returned the text with a cheesy joke. I laughed it off and pressed the button on the top of my cell phone. Then I saw a large white truck drive up the Highway to my right. I could see it go into the turning lane to the school. I tried my best to act cool, leaning against the wall, shoving a dart between my lips. I stared quick anxiously at the people within the truck, I had counted four. A man, and two women. One stepped, out. At first I could not see her beauty to the full extent, either it was my crappy vision, or blurry contacts. As she got closer I realized how much more amazing she was. She gave a sigh as the truck left and smiled.
"Hello Thomas!"
Being me, I smirked lightly and looked at her. I could feel my cheeks blush, but she wouldn't know could she? It's cold, yes it's cold! As quick as I could I responded, with a wave and shoved the dart back into my pack which was escorted into my pocket.
"Hey Mackenzie."
Pushing my body from the wall I grabbed my Longboard and motioned for us to walk. She spoke, but all I had really been focused on, was her face. She was beautiful, her red hair, the green eyes, the nose, her cheeks, even her ears were pretty. I smiled when she asked me a question and I shrugged, she giggled and I raised an eyebrow.
We had began to walk, and we talked to each other. I began to realize we had so many similiarities... I thought it to be a miracle. We got into her house, me and her watched some shows on her laptop. Again I was focused on her face, like the sun, it was the center of my galaxy. I looked at the door as her mother entered, she looked at Mackenzie as if she were angry and asked.
"WELL! Are you going to have a fire or not!"
Mackenzie sighed and grabbed my arm, I got off her bed with her. She had closed her laptop and we got outside. I stood outside, the shivers came back to me and Mackenzie went back inside. I felt alone for a good long four minutes, I waited for her to return, staring at the fire pit intensely. Then a noise of a closing door sounded behind me, and I turned to see Mackenzie with a blanket. Me and her then walked to the pinic table and we sat down. I stared into the fire. Our backs faced the back door. I looked at Mackenzie, into her eyes, and she did the same...
"I think, this is a date..."
I said quietly. She blushed lightly and nodded in agreement, resting her head back with a smirk. She looked at me and smiled again.
"I guess it is."
I placed my hand on the back of her neck, and I kissed her...
And that began the first day of our relationship...
