There once was a village far from the world of you and I. In this village what you and I call myths, legends, fairy tales, and nightmare are what they call reality. The village was once a place you would think as a glimpse of heaven but now is sneak preview of hell.
The village's name is Norhold. The town is completely surrounded by 100 ft stone walls and the only way in was the front gate, guarded at all time. People aren't aloud in the woods at all in fear they would be killed by vampires, werewolves, or some other nightmarish creature. If your caught near the woods you are banned from the village.

Walking home from the pub I furiously kicked one of the stones on the walkway frustrated that Terance had made a fool of me in front of all his friends while I was working my shift. I mean who gave him the right to call me a wench then dump his meed on me!? If the bloody bastard didnt like the taste take it up with the brewery men not me.
Sighing, I let it go knowing there was nothing I could do about it. The stupid blackguard could do whatever he wanted since he was a village guard. But that didn't stop me from hoping.
When I reached my home I shuffled into the dark living quarters and lit the candles. Hanging my cloak up I began making my way through the small shack I call home to my room to change.
While changing gowns I began to ponder again what it is like out side the walls. I imagine it's enchanting. The council tell us its a world full of vile creatures and nightmares. But what I see from the gate when the guards change shifts looks amazing. It's so colorful. In the village we have small gardens but they are nothing compared to the forest.
I wish I could explore it. But alas to do that would result in me being banished from the village. I may not entirely believe it to be a world full of terrifying creatures, but that doesn't mean I want to test it.
But could it truly look that lovely and be that sinful. They tell us the village is the safest place and the best place. But the living conditions are poor and disease is spreading from unsanitary conditions.
Shaking my thought away I smoothed out my dress and looked in the mirror. This is the safest and best place. I shouldn't be think those thoughts right?...
