I sat casually against the leather sofa in my mother's dressing room. I played around with my phone, checking through Twitter, and the natural games.
"Mrs. Evergreen?" My mum's stylist came looking in the room frantically.
"Sorry Chloe, she's not here, yet. Why is something wrong?" I didn't care, not to be mean but truly I didn't care about my mother's show, or her even being an interviewer.
"Well the show starts in half an hour, and I can't reach her work cell."
Yes, my mother had a work cellphone, so employees didn't get her real phone number that way her rela phone was for only friends or family.
"Would you like me to try to contact her?" I asked actually trying to care, but in all honesty, I didn't. I am not rude, don't jump to conclusions. I have been in this studio so much, but nothing here ever affects me, sure all the workers know me, but I just sit in my mother's dressing room waiting on her to finish.
"If you could please Ava." she smiled.
"Of Course."
"Thank you, you are a life saver."
I exited out of the twitter app and clicked my contacts, and searched through until I finally found the one labeled, 'Mother'. Yes, I have it labeled that judge what you want but that's what I titled it. Chloe stood next to me waiting for a response.
I clicked the contact and held it up to my ear waiting for a response.
1 ring.
2 rings.
3 rings
4 rings
5 rings
Just when I thought she was about never going to pick up, she finally did. "Hey Ava."
"Hi um, mum, the crew is all worried your show starts in like half an hour and your not here." I stated simply, she was probably stuck in traffic but I justed needed to clear that with them that she was in traffic after I cleared it my self.
"I am stuck in an every important meeting right now Ava, your going to have to do it."
"I can't do your show." I argued back.
"Your going to do it, pass the phone to Chloe." I huffed angrily and handed the stylist my phone.
"Yes will do. We will get her ready. Yes we will tell them that your sorry. Bye Mrs. Everygreen." Chloe hung up the phone and handed it back to me. "Ava may you please do this? That meeting is important but so is this show." Chloe begged.
I let out a deep breath. "Okay Chloe I will do it." I huffed at her. Chloe quickly spread that I was doing the show today and everyone was at my side, asking me if I needed something and getting through make-up, hair and all the stuff.
I was use to this, I have been on her show before as a side assitant and stuff but never actually doing it. A lot of people knew who I was, and I occasionally got the paparazzi mob, in High School I was basically popular because no one was confindent enough to stand up to me.
I was a confindent person, I was kind, but if you fought, I fought back. People consider my traits admirable, but that's their personal outlook on me. I personally don't care if you hate me, like me or whatever else there was.
"Are you ready Miss Evergreen?" One of the stage crew asked me as I walked onto the studio stage and to my mother's desk. "As ready as I shall ever be."
It's just a half an hour, it's just a half an hour. I repeated over and over in my head.
"And we are live in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"
