I grab a box and go upstairs, to where my room is located.
My younger sister runs behind me, jumping onto my back, which causes me to drop my box, but luckily it was tapped shut.
"You idiot." I mutter underneath my breath.
My mother walked up behind me. "Don't be calling your sister names, Rose"
"Yes, mother" I respond, followed by a sigh.
I pick up my box once again. My sister follows me and giggles.
As I walk into my room, I set the box down.
"Don't you have something better to do? Like unboxing your own stuff?" I say to my sister in an annoyed tone.
She shrugged and walked off.
It was soon to be dinner, so I finished unpacking and went downstairs to clean up.
I walked over to the sink and washed my hands. Mother had already set the food on the table.
After dinner, I went upstairs and got ready for bed. I was quite tired after the move.
I tucked myself into my covers. As I turned to face the window, I saw a light coming from our woods. I brushed it off and decided I would explore in the morning.
A few hours went by, it was around 2 in the morning.
I woke up to something being hit at my window. I opened my eyes to see 2 human figures throwing what seemed to be rocks at my window.
Normally, I wouldn't do this but I was tired and didn't pay attention to what I was about to do.
I walked downstairs and to the back door. I looked over to my left and still, the same figures were standing outside of our house. I opened the door and foolishly walked outside and over to the figures.
"Excuse me, who are you?" I said, tiredly. The figures turned over to me.
One looked to be my age, he had brown, medium length hair, grayish-blue eyes, and was quite skinny.
The other seemed to be a bit older, around 15, perhaps? She had black hair that went to her lower back, and brown eyes.
What were they doing behind our house? Besides the fact that they were throwing rocks at my window.
The quite skinny boy began to speak, "We live near-" The black haired girl punched his shoulder and whispered something in his ear.
The girl stared at the boy. "We do live nearby, but my dear apprentice here was about to commit a sin and lie." The girl spoke in a quiet and clam tone.
I am so confused. So, random kids show up behind our house, and I come out to find out why, and I get told about some "sin and lie" stuff? This is stupid.
"My name is Cameron and this is Vixen." The boy said.
"I'm not trying to offend you but, it's 2 in the morning and I just want to go back to sleep. If you want to talk to me so bad, just come back in the morning."
They both looked at me. It was silent for a few moments. Vixen broke the silence.
"My apologies but, we can't. We have to talk to you now, it's about what is in the woods.."
This brought back memories of when I saw the light and shadows a few hours beforehand.
"Do you know something about the fact that there were people walking back there?" I asked out of curiosity.
They both looked at each other.
"We have to go. Now." Cameron said, aggressively.
He grabbed my arm and dragged me. For looking like he could barely pick up a plate, he was averagely strong.
I attempted to scream but Cameron held my mouth. Vixen chased us, not far behind him. She wasn't chasing him to save me though, she was helping him.
After around 10 minutes of running, we stopped at a what seemed to be a shed.
Cameron threw me on the couch and walked away to a kitchen.Vixen sat next to me. I was frozen out of fear.
What am I supposed to do? I was breathing heavily. Mostly out of fear as I've mentioned but also, I was still really tired.
"I understand that you're afraid, but don't be. There are psychopaths that live in your woods and if we stayed there any longer, we would've been better off dead." Vixen stated, very calmly surprisingly.
I was just told there are psychopaths outside my house and I'm not supposed to be afraid?
( Hello! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter and I'll be working on the next very soon!)
