Hero stayed at his room for the rest of the week. He didn't come out for dinner and he refused to talk to anyone.
That girl, Dani, really broke him.
I felt bad for him but there was nothing I could do.
One day, Angela called me for lunch. I got out of my room quickly, because I was mid homework and I was really hungry. On my way out though I bumped on someone.
"Shit, sorry" he said.
I looked up to see a guy, about a head taller than me with dark hair and brown eyes that were covered with glasses and a small beard on his face. Cute.
"It's okay" I said.
"Wait, you're Jo?" He asked.
"Do you know me?"
"Not really. Hero has talked to me about you. Not much though. I'm Theo, his best friend" he said.
"Oh, nice to meet you"
"You too" we shook hands.
We both ran down the stairs. I sat for lunch but he quickly took two plates with food and went upstairs again.
"So, you met Theo, I see" Mercy said smirking at me.
"Yeah. He seems cool" I said.
"He reminds me of a pokemon" she said looking at the distance thinking.
I just looked at her weirdly.
The days after passed calmly. I went to see Max and Bella again, I completed my studies and I spent a lot of time with Mercy.
When Monday morning finally came I jumped off the bed with excitment. The day had finally come.
I was going to schooool!
I got ready in no time and ran down for breakfast. Because it was the first day of school I decided to wear my black dress. It was the only thing that was mine anyway. I decided to wear a neckless too. My nana had given it to me when I was ten. It was of a small heart and she said that whenever I had it with me she'll always be there loving me.
I sat down and started shallowing my food bearly even chewing it.
"Slow down, Josephine. School will still be there"
I shallowed one last time before nodding my head.
"Yeah sorry! I'm just excited. Eeek" I started jumping on my seat.
Hero rolled his eyes taking a sip of his tea.
"Does she really have to come with?"
"Yes, Hero. Now eat your food and drive your sisters to school" Mr Tiffin said.
Hero groaned.
"She'll never be my sister!"
His words dissapointed me a little not gonna lie. I really wanted to build a relationship with him. We were living together for God's sake!
But he kept being an arrogant rich boy with no emotions.
When we arrived at school everything was so... intimidating. There were a lot of people at the halls and I suddenly wanted to be invisible. I saw people giving me weird stares. Some dudes with footballs in their hands passed by me and I started looking at them with my mouth agape. They were huge!
Hero spotted Theo at the crowd and he quickly left my side. Mercy took me to the office. I got my sceadule and my locker number.
I was so grateful that Mercy was there. I propably looked like a lost puppy.
