"What a slut."
"She must've been desperate."
Those were the words Chloe kept hearing while walking down liberty high's hall. Every day was was worse than the other, and she'd never felt so alone in her life. No one had ever seen her like this before. The young cheerleader that was usually so cheerful and always willing to cheer someone up was now seen as a sad and vulnerable little girl.

Bent over the bathroom's mirror, Chloe stared at herself with disgust, eyes filled with tears. A wave of horror and disgust traveled her body when she remembered a human was growing inside her belly.

The voices of people gossiping outside could still be heard, but Chloe was barely able to hear them over the blood that was pounding in her ears. Small sobs were now escaping her mouth and warm tears kept streaming down the girl's rosy cheeks as she could feel a panic attack dangerously start to kick in. Chloe had always been anxious. She'd already had few panic attacks, but no one ever got to see them as she always coped alone by distracting herself, somehow.

"Do you think.....Bryce....the baby?"

Breathe in...

"She's inside....probably...."

Breathe out...
Her sobs could definitely be heard from outside as well.

Chloe jumped slightly when she heard someone shout, and before she could think of anything, the door burst open and she slowly fell to her knees.

Alex's heart broke at the sight of Chloe. She was curled up on the floor, her body was shaking uncontrollably and she could barely breathe. He let out a gasp and quickly moved to her side, gently placing a hand on her shoulder before slowly lifting her chin, making her face him.

''Hey, it's okay. I'm here, just breathe." Alex said, trying to find the right words.
''I can't.'' she choked, rocking back and forth.
"Breathe with me Chloe," Alex took a hold of her hand and squeezed it slightly. "Come on, you can do it. Breathe with me." Alex could tell Chloe was trying her best to control her breathing, but her breath was cut short by heavy sobs.
''It's going to be alright. I've got you.''
''It's hard- I...I can't...'' she choked out, tears still streaming down her cheeks.
''Shh...I know.'' he said while stroking her cheek tenderly. "It's going to be okay, I'm here. It's alright. You're safe." Chloe nodded as Alex wrapped his arms around her, gently pressing her face to his chest while tracing lines up and down her spine in an attempt to calm her down.
"I need you to breathe for me. Okay? You can do it love. In and out, slowly, just like that." Chloe nodded and took a deep, shaky breath, then another.

''Good...that's good." Alex gave a small kiss on the top of her head and slightly pulled away to give her some space.
Chloe's shoulders were shaking as she took in deep breaths and tried to let them out. Her hands were trembling, and the look on her face was full of fear, as if she was afraid this would never stop. Alex grabbed her hands back in his own, rolling his thumbs over her knuckles in a slow and gentle manner until his hands stopped trembling fully.
When she finally calmed down, he let go of her hands and ran his fingers through her hair.
"Feeling better?" Alex whispered as he kissed her forehead before wrapping his arms around her again, feeling her reciprocate the hold.

''Yeah...'' she answered, complete exhaustion taking over her. "Y-You didn't have to do this..." her voice was low, barely above a whisper. Quickly wiping away the tears from her cheeks, she inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, leaning her head down.
"Hey...look at me." Alex said, putting his hand beneath her chin to lift up her face. "Im really sorry. About...all of this."
Chloe shrugged sadly and leaned her head on Alex's shoulder, both of them quickly falling into a comfortable silence.

"You're not alone, okay? I promise."
