"I don't think I have a soulmate.." I said, drawing yet another flower on my hand.
It was a cold winter day. Snowflakes dancing delicately around in the air, falling slowly like flower petals. It was daytime, but it was dark like it was night. I was at my friend's house, whining as always.

"Why do you think that?" My friend turned to me, tilting his head in amusement.
"Gee, I don't know, surely it isn't because no marks ever show up on my skin!" I replied sarcastically, "It can't be because I never get any sort of answer, ever!"
"Damn, you're cranky today, how much did you sleep?"
"Enough to know I'm going to stay single forever!" I threw the pen in the air, then struggled to catch it.

Alex stopped for a bit, scratched his head, then asked me,
"Don't you think it's a little early to find your soulmate?"
"Love is never too early, my friend~" I replied, stealing a line from one of my favorite tv shows.
"It is when you're 17, you're a kid!" He threw his hands in the air, "You always whine about your soulmate, so what if they don't respond, doesn't mean you'll stay single forever, focus on a career or something."

"So cold-" I shivered, acting hurt.
"I mean, seriously, what do you want? A romance like your grandparent's?"
"Well, yeah."
"Lady, they were older than you are now-" he flung himself on his bed, then continued. "-And times are different, you can't just go off on a little amount of info around your town searching for The One!" He put an emphasis on 'the one', to express the absurdity of my wishes.

He was right though. I wanted someone to search through the entire city and find me so we could have our little happy forever after moment. I stepped on him and opened the window in his room, just above his bed.

"You're heavy as ever, I see."
"That's mean."
"Making me see your face every day is mean."
"I should say the same."
"Yeah."

"Hey, you really shouldn't stress about the soulmate thing, y'know."
"Yeah, don't worry-"
"I'm serious, Lucy, you're just making things hard for yourself. You do know that sometimes soulmates turn out to be something other than lovers, right?"
"Yeah, but I don't want that, I want someone that'll fit me like a puzzle piece."
"Find them, why wait for some soulmate that might turn out a douche?"

I laid down next to him, taking out my phone.
"Arghh, don't want to imagine that."
"But, hey, there're still the strats-"
"Yeah, like your dumbass~"
"Haha, no."
"Have you met your soulmate though?"
"Yeah, she's not for me."

"Maybe mine's not for me either."
