There was a light wind blowing over the ruins of the big city, it was rather quiet, only some stray animals where wandering around. In between destroyed machines, all reduced to nothing more than old scrap or parts to be salvaged. Few people are in question to have left such a battlefield, and even less where around the ruins anymore as well. So, who was going around destroying those machines? Honestly, I have no idea, but what I will be telling you today isn't about this person in the first place, Todays story is about an android named YoRHa attacker No.2, or in short, A2, and someone we have yet to meet. A2 is a deserter, but she has her reasons as we all have them.

The sun was starting to rise above the horizon as A2 walked through destroyed houses, doing what she always does, nothing. She was walking around, and every machine she sees would be slashed down to bits in no time. That's what she always does, there is nothing specific she would do in the rest of this destroyed world, and she hated machines, so I suppose she invested her time wisely. The sun was shining gently upon the ruins, and there was a warm breeze combing through A2's long white hair. Everything was as usual, at least until she passed an access point, normally she would just pass by those but since she had a rather interesting encounter some time ago she decided to check if there was any word going around about it by someone else. She only saw a lot of stacked up mails from YoRHa and some other stuff that A2 didn't give a shit about, but as she took a closer look at her unread mails, she saw one that wasn't supposed to be here. The encounter she made some days ago was some "weird round thing" as she calls it, in fact though, his name was Emil, and there was little known about him, just that he is a leftover from the old world and possesses some sort of magical power. A2 had no idea who or what exactly this guy was, he was about the size of a machine head, pale white as his blank eyes and had a static, grinning mouth. All in all, he looks a bit scary but after the two of them talked for a bit he turned out to be a nice round thing. As he invited A2 to visit him at his home underground. A2 couldn't care less about stuff like this but as she read the mail with a vague description to his home a thought crossed her mind, he lived somewhere down inside the tunnels beneath the city ruins. A2 had never been there, and so she thought that there might be some stray, very old machines for her to slaughter, so she decided to pay Emil a visit at his home after all. She started her little travel over to the big crater in the middle of town, from there she was supposed to enter one of the old sewer pipes. It took a bit until she found the pipe that lead deeper inside the stone. She was walking through the dark corridor without any light, just straight ahead. It's not that she was scared, it just annoyed her to not see anything. She just went straight on ahead, at least until she heard something buzzing behind her. She turned around and sure enough there was a flying machine closing in. A2 just stood there calmly and waited until the machine was close enough to her to slit open the cage holding the rotors. The machine flew uncontrollably through the big pipe into a wall and exploded after taking the force of the impact.

"Damn, round thing can't even give directions" A2 muttered to herself as she was turning around to leave, but she held her step after spotting a dim light falling through a little crack in the wall which was opened by the machine which had annihilated itself on it. And so A2 got curious and went on to investigate. After she reached the wall she tried to peek through the broken stone, she saw a door frame, and a weak light shining right above it.

"Is that it?" thought A2. "That's a bit annoying but whatever".

She was assuming her combat stance and kicked the wall with all her power. The old concrete shattered easily and opened a way hardly big enough for A2 to fit through. But A2 still managed to get inside the small room.

Inside there was nothing, just old walls and the door frame she could see earlier, without a door that is. She continued to walk straight ahead, and there was an incredibly rusted railing. As she leaned over it carefully, she saw a seemingly endless staircase that was going downwards, the kind you have in skyscrapers or other high buildings, just that this was going straight down deep inside the earth. Emil told A2 that he lives deep below the surface beforehand, and so she thought she finally found the entrance, and started walking down the stairs. There were lamps from time to time though, the hardly emitted any light any more, barely enough to even see but A2 handled herself quite well in this darkness.

She has been walking stairs for about half an hour now and there was still nothing, but she wasn't going to turn back now any more, she just had to know what kind of construction this was. And her curiosity was answered after as she finally reached a short corridor that led to the same kind of door frame, she saw earlier just with the difference that this one still had a door in it. A2 approached it and upon closer inspection she came to the conclusion that this was a security door. At first, she wanted to try and open it normally, otherwise she would just rip out the lock or kick I open. Either way as a last resort she could just cut through the old iron with her sword, but that wasn't necessary since the door just fell out of its frame after A2 tried to open it. But all the door did was reveal the sight of an old elevator door. A2 did hesitate a bit but decided to give it a try after all. And so, she went on to push the button right next to the rusty door of the elevator and shortly after she did so, it opened. The construction seemed surprisingly stable considering the door was literally rusted away. The button panel had only two buttons, one was flickering and probably indicated that the elevator was on hold in this story, so A2 used the only other button, the door closed automatically and the elevator started to move downwards.

"Just how damn deep is all of this" though A2 while she was going straight down for a good five minutes. When the ride was finally over the doors opened again to reveal yet another security door, but this one was in good shape. But A2 was lucky as the door was opened a bit. She stepped out of the elevator to see what was behind that door. Ready for combat to start at any second she slowly pushed the door...
