« I find peace in the rain. »

It washes the world, quenching soil and the life who depend upon it. In either warmth or coldness, sunlight or moonlight, rain comes, humble to its role. In this almost-spring afternoon, it is the percussion to the birdsong and the bringer of brightness to every hue of bark and leaf. It's been 2 weeks in a row with rain and you couldn't be any sicker of it. Sigh, you stare out the window, watching the raindrops fall one by one off the glass. It's been lonely for the past few days. Your boyfriend, Kyojuro, was on a mission and wasn't supposed to come back until next week. It was just dreadful. No cuddles, no nose kisses, no back hugs, you missed his warmth. All you've been doing for the past week was pretty much sleep. "At least I caught up on sleep."

Your stomach grumbled in hunger. You decided to make yourself a snack. You got up from your seat and your legs felt numb and fizzy. "I guess I sat down for way too long". You made your way into the kitchen, opening the fridge to find yourself something. It was pretty empty. There was a jar of mayonnaise, a half-eaten sandwich and a carton of expired milk. "Do you think I could just eat mayonnaise straight from the jar?" You closed the fridge and walked back to your shared bedroom. You reverently rubbed your fingers along the silken mattress. You pressed your cheek to the cool, velvet pillows. The comforter was thick and irresistibly soft, like a billowing cloud. You feel this blackness come over yourself. Like a blanket, but not a blanket of warmth but a blanket of coldness making you shiver. But somehow it's making your eyes feel heavier and heavier. You close your eyes finally sending you into a dreamless sleep.

You wake suddenly, every thought in high definition. Your eyes take in every ray of light from the stars and without a doubt, you knew you slept too long. You hear soft, muffled snoring beside you, turning around, you find Kyojuro out like a light. "When did he come home?" You poke him softly on the cheek.

"Hmm?" He lazily opened his eyes and smiled. He pulls you into a tight hug, resting his head on top of yours. "I missed your hugs," he kisses your forehead as you embrace him back. You fall back asleep in his warm, gentle embrace. "When did you come home?" You asked.

"Just a few hours ago. I found you dozing off so I didn't want to disrupt your sleep." His warm, cozy body engulfed your cold figure. Together you drift back into sleep.

Your eyes greet the day shine, your heart and lungs expand. The egg yolk sun poured through the cracks in the blind and awaited entrance into your eyes. You look to the other side but it seems that Kyojuro has already gotten up. Putting on fresh clothes as you make your way into the bathroom for a warm shower. After getting out of the shower, you smell an enticing aroma, you follow it into the kitchen where you see Kyojuro making breakfast.

"Good morning!" You yawned out as you take a seat at the table. He brings over a bowl of soup, a bowl of rice and other side dishes. You wait for him to take a seat so that you both could eat together. "Thank you for the food!"

As you drank the soup, you couldn't help but savour the flavours. "Ahhhhh how I missed your cooking." Kyojuro smiled, he liked it when you enjoyed his cooking as you weren't much of a cooker, always burning things so Kyojuro did most of the cooking and he didn't mind.

"I love your cooking," he chuckled and you gave him a toothy grin. "Maybe I should cook dinner tonight." Kyojuro couldn't help but laugh knowing that it wasn't going to end well. The laugh was in his eyes, in the way his face changed into that vision of relaxed joy and unrestrained mirth.

You helped clean up after finish eating. As you wash the dishes you feel a pair of hands hugging you from behind. "I missed you," Kyojuro says as he showers you in kisses. You laughed, Obanai must've been so irritated with him. Obanai went with Kyojuro on a mission that lasted 2 weeks, you didn't know much about it, all you knew it was something about gathering intel about Muzan Kibutsuji. You couldn't help but think about Kyojuro annoying Obanai by talking about his girlfriend the whole time. They'd argue about who's better girlfriend, you or Mitsuri. You and Mitsuri couldn't help but laugh at their little argument. Once you were finished cleaning up, you decided to take a walk outside with Kyojuro, it's been so long since the weather was clear.

"Hey, let's take a walk outside, it's been so long since the weather cleared up."

"Of course!"

As you go outside together, hand in hand, you breathed in deeply the fresh air. "Aaahhh.." You both keep walking until you feel cold droplets fall on your head. The sky turned grey and it starting to pour. Both of you quickly walked back to the house to avoid the downpour.

"Aww and I thought we were going to have a clear, sunny day." You pouted, crossing your arms. Kyojuro noticed your disappointment, he felt sad too. He pulled you in for a hug. "Don't worry! I bet we can find tons of things to do indoors!" Going into the kitchen, you decide to make some hot cocoa. "Kyojuro, go take a seat, let me fix us up some hot cocoa." His eyes flashed with a beam and his face lite up. "GOOD IDEA!"

You walk into the living with hot cocoa in both of your hands. Kyojuro was reading a book. "Here's your coco," you set it down beside him on the side table. "Thanks, [Y/N]!"

His eyes engrossed into the pages of his book. Maybe this book was really good. "So, what are you reading?"

Kyojuro set the book away from him as he took the cup of cocoa. "Just a random book I found on the couch," looking into your [E/C] orbs "It wasn't that interesting."

"Well, you did seem quite into it," you replied, setting down the hot cocoa on the side table. A clap of thunder came, a brilliant shock of white in the graphite sky, forking silently to the unsuspecting ground - the thunderous boom always calling its warning too late. "Eeeep!" You jumped into Kyojuro arms, hugging him tightly as you buried your head into his chest. He chuckled and patted your head gently and hugged you back. This was normal whenever there was lightning. You were scared of it and Kyojuro knew as he would always comfort you because of it.

"You know, rainy days aren't as bad when you're around Kyojuro," you gently kissed his forehead. He responded with a gentle kiss on your lip before resting his head onto your shoulder. "Let's stay this way then," hugging you tightly to his chest as you both drift off into sleep in each other's arm. You needed only the light of day, the comfort of home and the loving arms of your lover.
