"It may sound disappointing, but I don't feel like a hero like I was once."

"Good morning, Syspocalypstar!"

Emmet has always said that cheerful greeting everyday as he went out one morning to buy some hot coffee for his friends, holding four of the cups in a coffee tray and walking slow when he finishes saying it.

It has been several months since the cheerful residents of the Systar System and the rebellious citizens in Apocalypseburg had reunited in a peaceful way, after the events of Armamageddon happened over a selfish intent of his evil self, which should not discuss with. Everyone in that new town became happy and comfortable, peace still goes on, and everything looks colorful and cheerful in any direction.

But as for himself and his friends, things had been changed (a lot) since the adventure they'd had all those days. Unikitty became much nicer and more cheerful on her attitude, Benny and Sweet Mayhem became best friends with each other, and Wyldstyle has a new hair color that showed blue and pink stripes all over her head.

But not him, however, as he was. He was as simple, kind and a bit naive as he was six years ago, his outfit still hadn't changed and still looking the best.

As he walked by the streets of the town while carrying his load, he starts to greet the residents he'd saw on the sides of the road he'd walked into.

"Morning, Surfer Dave!" he greeted his friend, who was seen in a carpentry shop nearby with tools on his hands, as if he's busy.

"It's 'Carpenter Dave' now," the latter replies, still busy fixing some of his damaged surfboards.

He eventually went to greet some residents as well, just like he used to all the time.

"Morning, Star Babies!"
"Morning, Tattoo Susan!"
"Morning, Garden Cop!"

He then passed by the cat lady, Sherry, and her cats, along with three of Rex's raptor pets that had changed colors since they're adopted under her care.

"Morning, Scarfield, Deathface, Razor, Razor Claw, Connor, Ripley, the other one... Jeff," he greeted some of them.

He then asked her, "Uh, Sherry, where are the others? Are they all sick?"

"Not really," she replied, chuckling. "They only stay a lot at home, you know indoor cats... hold on – did I just said that to you so many times now?"

But he was already walking away from her, whistling a tune as he walked by.

Upon passing by through Batman's forthouse lair, he stopped to stare on the place for a little bit. The usual black Batman logo, suspiciously, now changed colors to those of his fiancee, Queen Whatevra Wa'nabi.

She was once the ruler of the Systar System, the so-not-evil alien queen that was responsible for the Duplo attacks before (and turned out to have terrible communication skills), but right after the matrimonial ceremony (that was interrupted by you-know-who), the two mismatched leaders of different worlds decide to live together for a bit, even if their differences had made their relationship difficult for them.

But not when two eyes and a mouth suddenly appeared on the Batman logo.

"Hey, Emmet!" Wa'nabi called out to him.

At what he suddenly saw, he jumped in surprise, nearly dropping the coffee cups.

"Sorry if I scare ya, bud, but I had to find 'ere of a colorful disguise," she said. "The Man of Bats wants me here to do 'dark stuff', that's what."

Emmet stoops down to pick up a coffee cup that had been standing upright on the pavement. "What for?"

"I'm hiding, duh!" She sounded anxious in her words. "I don't want him to notice me."

"I, uh, I don't want to judge, but I can tell you that, uh, that you are pretty noticable with the colors you have." He then walked a few steps before Wa'nabi stopped him.

"I know! It's too hard for me to blend in. I don't want to do what he always does! Besides, it's too much...!"

"Why not tell him the truth?"

Indistinctively, Batman was calling for her from inside the lair.

"Oh my queen! Where are you...? I want to say something to you...!" he called.

Wa'nabi knew that he's looking for her. "Don't tell him that I'm here," she whispered to Emmet.

When Batman appeared outside of his fortress, and upon seeing his old friend standing there with the coffee cups on his hands, he zoomed closer to him (by using his grappling gun hooked to a lamppost) and stopped when he's inches apart from each other.

"Sup bro, how's it going to you?" he asked while he unhooked his grappler. "You don't seem to change much."

Emmet only smiled and said, "It's always the usual, nothing changes... Hey, come to think of it, it's only a few days left to my birthday. Wanna come? You're invited."

But Batman had other plans planned (for himself), now fiddling through a notepad. "Well, let's see... saving the world, meeting with my butler Alfred, our wedding anniversary... Sorry, can't come today. Got a lot of things to do."

"But trust me, Batman! This is going to be awesome!" Emmet then handed over one of his coffee cups to him. "And the super bitter coffee with a touch of soya, just like you asked."

Batman agrees and took the coffee cup. "Thanks. I think."

"Oh well!" Emmet then headed to the direction of his home. "See ya! Gonna bring the coffee to Lucy."

"You too," Batman replied, sipping his coffee. "And watch the roads, don't want you to have another mishap..."

But not until he walked back to his fortress with the coffee he had when he spotted the colors in his Batman logo. As if he had found someone in hide-and-seek.

"Oh, there you are, my queen!" he called to the logo.

Feeling that she's been spotted by her fiance, Wa'nabi merged out of the logo and shaped herself into a snake.

"Oh dear. Gonna go!" she panicked, now slithering away to the edge.

***

As our hero was still walking towards his home with the remaining coffee cups on his hands, you may imagine that while he walked, the screen starts zooming out to reveal a post-apocalyptic, colorful, and semi-crowded street that was Syspocalypstar from the one you imagined from the movie...

...but as the story you're going to read right now is about to really start, let me tell you this...

...as I had said in the title: "The end is just the beginning, my friend!" Trust me.

And don't mind if this story changes a lot. It has been two years...
