Chapter 52, Important messages

/ Third Person POV / 

( Resistance Base, D'Qar ) ( One week earlier )

Rey sat with General Leia in the command building of the Resistance base in D'Qar. Both women were very impatient and nervous, awaiting for the arrival of Poe Dameron and other pilots, who had gone on a very important mission to retrieve information from the First Order. The whole rebellion was a little shaken with the events of the past weeks: Rey getting captured by the First Order, Kylo Ren becoming the Supreme Leader, and y/n being a praetorian guard gone fugitive.

" It's been days, General Leia." Rey said in sorrow.

" What can we do it about it? Poe Dameron is our best pilot, and he knows his loopholes, everything will go according to plan." Leia said, trying to reassure her apprentice. " General. What if something went wrong?" Rey asked impatiently. " I should've went. I could've defended them from any danger. They should be back already!"

Leia placed both her hands on each of Rey's shoulders and stared at her with a soothing and hopeful look. " Rey. Remember what I taught you. Don't let fear of scenarios that have never happened get inside your head." Rey stood up and paced around the room, " I know general. It just worries me. After everything that has happened." 

" I know Rey." The general said, a little pained to be reminded about her son. " Have hope. Poe will come back." In that moment, Finn had ran into the command room, almost sliding into a desk. " General Leia! Rey! I saw a couple ships heading through the atmosphere! I think they're X wings!" He almost yelled, very happily but worried at the same time.

There was a faint cheering and clapping outside, but both Rey and Leia could hear it becoming louder. They shot up from their seats and jogged towards the sound, to see the couple of x wings that had arrived safe and sound back into D'Qar. Poe jumped off of his and was welcomed by Rey's tight hug. Finn had also joined into the embrace, glad to see his friend was ok. 

" Poe! You're back! And not a limb missing!" Finn joked. 

" Yes, and I bring very important information." Poe replied, his tone serious. " But not here. Let's go to the command room." He said, as the group walked behind him, eyeing each other nervously. 

" Tell us Poe. What did you find out?" Leia asked, she too, was beginning to be impatient. Poe looked around the room, making sure there was nobody else inside. " Poe? Why are you acting so... odd?" Rey said, and Poe took deep breaths and closed his eyes.

" Sorry." He muttered. " But after what I learned, I can't help but feel like someone is always listening." Finn shifted uncomfortably, none of them were really sure what to say to that. " There's a mole in the First Order." He whispered.

" A- A spy?" Rey repeated, and Poe nodded his head. Leia seemed to have a weight released from her shoulders as she closed her eyes, and Finn and Rey hugged in joy. Poe, on the other hand, barely smiled, but he didn't want to ruin the good news for his companions. " We have an intel on the inside!" Finn declared as he spun Rey around, both of them laughing. 

/ Time Skip / 

That night, there was another big camp fire, to celebrate the good news Poe had brought. The atmosphere had rarely been so jolly since Kylo Ren had slaughtered ex Supreme Leader Snoke and became the new First Order supreme leader, but this was a chance the resistance might never have again.

Rey walked over towards Poe, who had stayed a little isolated from the rest of the crowd, and that wasn't like him. " Poe. Why are you here all alone? You should come celebrate with us the good news!" She said as she sat down next to him. " I'm good, thanks." He replied, shaking his head. " Come on Poe! Nowadays, we rarely have any victory to celebrate. Can't you see that information could be what we need to bring the First Order down?" Rey replied, standing back up and offering her hand to help Poe up.

" I... I didn't tell you everything." Poe whispered, standing up.

" What? Poe... What is it?" Rey asked, placing a hand on his shoulder and looking at him, she could tell he was very worried. " The news about the informer wasn't the only one I found out about." Poe muttered. Rey shifted uncomfortably, but she needed to know what Poe wasn't saying to any of them. " Tell me." She said, but it had sounded like an order.

Poe looked towards the night sky and sighted, " the First Order is organizing a mass hunt with some of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy... Rey, they're going to hunt down y/n."

I know, this chapter was really short :(

But I actually liked the ending, the suspense. Because now we know you are heading to the First Order to hunt yourself down, lol.
