The sun had finally gone down and clouds had moved to cover the full moon, this movement cast a cool wind over motor city.

Although, it was well past midnight the streets were still alive with people scurrying around to either get home or attend a party.

Ashley perfered to go out at night it gave her a less likely chance of being exposed by the sun's harsh rays.

The people living in the city would look at her and think 'just another teenage runaway'

If only they stopped to ask.

The cafe on the corner of her street was her usual go to spot when she got overwhelmed and needed to calm down.

There she would sit in the corner staring out of the window watching as everyone got around unaware of the monsters that hid in the flesh of other people.

Completely unaware she was one of them.

The signs would be small but she could definitely tell when they were there, first, her fingers would get an Itch that couldnt be scratched.

Secondly, Her temperature would rise drastically and she would sweat uncontrollably.

It depended on which side of her wanted to come out and play.

Watching all the people interact wad quite interesting she could pick up on there body movements and how they portrayed their emotions.

Her eyes catch a man taking a prostitute into a dark alleyway with only very little light, she stands and exits the closing cafe.

The itch reappears causing a reaction throughout the body her body is flung forward and a light emits from her palms, mouth and eyes.

A high pitched scream comes from the alley way and the woman comes running out in her undergarments "He's dead!"

Ashley's eye widen and she walks into the Alley slowly examining her surroundings.

A large man is slumped on the ground lifelessly.

Gulping back vomit she places her fingers on his neck checking for a pulse or any signs of life, the sick feeling returns when the realisation really hits.

This man is dead.

Using her foot the man rolls onto his back his face charred with melted skin revealing the muscle and bone underneath.

"Hey! Don't move!" Ashley is blinded by a flashlight.

"Put your hands up!" gulping nervously, she follows he's commands and groans as he forces her arms down and slaps a pair of handcuffs around her wrists.

A slight groan of pain can be heard as he tightens the cuffs "why did you kill him?"

She stares at the police officer with a blank stare showing no signs of emotion. "your going to jail for a long time, young lady."

He grabs her head and forces her into the squad car roughly, Ashley attempts to get comfortable trying to figure out how she was going to get out of this one.

The drive to the station felt like forever and the constant calls coming from dispatch were getting on her nerves.

When he finally pulls up to the station she sighs with relief.

Ashley hides her face as she's directed to an interrogation room, they force her onto the chair and unlock her handcuffs.

"that fucking hurt." she whispers, under her breath.

They close the door behind them and leave her to sit there in silence alone with her thoughts.

After a couple of hours, the door opens and a detective walks in looking completely unbothered by the accusations towards her.

"I'm Detective Grayson."
