Bloody Smile: A Detective/Thriller Short Story [ON HOLD]

Now all of them were at the hospital to see Hachiro who was gravely injured. Then Hyosuke went out to get fresh air.

"Go after him!" Hana whispered to Kaori.
"Why?" Kaori asked, but since Hana kept insisting, she went after him. "Um, hey..." she said.
"Oh, hey" Hyosuke replied.
"Are you okay?" she asked timidly.
"I'm fine. I was just thinking about what we went through so far" he replied. "Witnessing a homicide, working with a detective in the case and coming here, in Brazil..." he added. The girl didn't know to say so she just nodded. "Remember when I saved you in the abandoned house?" he asked.
"Ah, yes... I tripped over something. How clumsy I am..." she replied. "So what...?"
"Nothing..." he said. After a short pause, he was hesitating to say something. "Um, I have something to tell you...." He finally said.
"What is it?" Kaori asked.
"I... I like you" he said. "I've liked you for a while... I don't know if you noticed that I'm a regular costumer at your bar, but I just go there only to see you". The girl was speechless. She started to feel guilty, after all she had always answered him badly. "You don't need to give me an answer now!" he quickly said.

Then there were fireworks in the dark sky and the rest of the guys looked at them from the window of the hospital room.

"Hachiro, can I ask you something?" Felipe asked and Hachiro tried to nod. "Did you manage to see Bloody Smile's face?"

"I did..." the guy replied struggling. "Felipe, Bloody Smile... He's... K..." he was finishing the sentence, but all of sudden his heart stopped beating. The machine that counted the heart beat didn't stop beeping, indicating that Hachiro had passed away.

"Hachiro? Hachiro...! No!" Felipe shouted getting the attention of the guys and Kaori and Hyosuke just came in. "C'mon, who is Bloody Smile?!"
"Felipe... He's gone..." Pedro said.
"No, he can't! We need to catch Bloody Smile!" he replied and in that moment a doctor and a nurse came in to assist Hachiro, but there had been nothing to do. Hachiro was dead now.
"Felipe, calm down! We'll find a way!" Gabriela said.

Felipe was even more frustrated than before. Now that Hachiro, the only one who saw directly Bloody Smile's face, had died, the only way to find the assassin is to look for all the people who witnessed the scene
After Hachiro had passed away on the hospital bed, the guys decided to go back home and rest. But while they were walking, they heard some people screaming. Could it be Bloody Smile again?

"Please help that guy! He's trying to commit suicide!" a woman screamed scared, pointing at the rooftop of a tall building.
"Don't worry, ma'am. We'll save him" Felipe said and called the boys to go with him, while the girls remained there.

Once the boys arrived at the rooftop of the building, they didn't make it in time and saw the guy jump off. They hurried to catch him, but it was useless. The guy must had already hit the ground and died. The boys hurried to get down - they probably lost some weight while doing the stairs - and the scene was terrifying. That guy was in a puddle of blood.

"Please make way! We're from the American Interpol!" Pedro shouted. Felipe checked the guy's face and it seemed somehow familiar.
"He looks like... Kenta?" Hayato said.
"Isabela! Cecilia! Can you analyze this corpse? This guy looks like Kenta" Felipe said and the two girls nodded.

The next day, after analyzing the corpse, the two girls told the others that that guy was really Kenta. But why did he commit suicide?

"Guys, you need to read this!" Hayato said and the others went closer to him. "Based on my research, I think Kan wasn't the assassin, but Kenta! Remember when Hachiro and Kotaro told us to stay away from him and that he had some mental illness? Well, turns out he really had serious mental problems and he was also the one who killed his parents" he explained.
"What? He killed his own parents?" Hyosuke exclaimed confused. "Wasn't the cause of his parents' death unknown? ...Ah, now I get it!" he added after realizing it.
"Stupid..." Kaori murmured.
"But then, who was the one who died behind our bar?" Hana asked.
"Probably Kan..." Hayato replied. "They must have switched their identities, Kenta killed Kan and changed name to get the Brazilian citizenship"
"If both of them are dead, does it mean the case is closed now?" Cristiano asked.
"I think this case is closed now!" Felipe said.

They really thought the case was closed now, but what they didn't expect was that a few weeks later, a letter arrived to Felipe's house. Full of curiosity, he opened the letter and read it. His eyes widened seeing those words.

'You thought you would get rid of me so easily? You're wrong! I'm coming for all of you... So you better watch out if you don't want your blood on the wall.

That was what there was written on the letter and on the bottom of it, there was his sign, the red smile.

"What is it?" Gabriela asked worried.
"I think the Bloody Smile case is not closed yet..." Felipe said in a serious way gripping tightly the letter in his hands.
