Hey this is my first story I will admit I've had a lot of help along the way. Hope you like this.
Mary entered the room sat on the couch and started to read her book. I wandered into the kitchen, opened the cabinet right above the stove and took out the strawberry jam made this morning.
"Are you hungry Mary?" I asked.
Not looking up she answered "Yeah will you make me a piece of strawberry toast?"
"Sure thing." I responded popping two pieces of toast in the toaster.
"Can you believe school is almost over?" I asked grinning.
Still not really paying attention Mary responded "Mmhm"
"I mean! I feel like we just started but now we are finishing! They even announced that you can start getting our year book on Monday!" I exclaimed but didn't receive an answer, "Man time sure can fly!" I added.
"Yeah, crazy. Now, will you let me read?" Mary asked looking up for the first time and sounding very annoyed.
I just frowned and turned back to the toaster. As of on cue the toast popped up and sank back down. I pulled two plates from the cupboard and set them on counter with the jam and knife. I then pulled out the toast and spread a layer of jelly on both. Setting the toast on the plates, I picked one up and took it to Mary whose nose was back in the book.
"One strawberry toast for the lovely, but grumpy Mary!" I said as I put the plate on the coffee table below.
"Where are mom and dad?" I asked.
"Aunt Brooklyn's party remember." Mary answered.
That's right they had to pick up a few things first sense they were technically the ones planing it.
"Okay well i am going to go work on my homework." I said to Mary... I might as well have been talking to the wall because she just waved me off without looking up from her book.
I walked into the huge bedroom that Mary And I shared, sitting down at the desk in the corner I ruffled through folders in my backpack When I suddenly realized... "Oh no, I left my English paper at school and it's due tomorrow !" I searched around frantically looking for an easy answer.
"It's alright when mom and dad get home we will go back." Mary said making her entrance into the room.
'Oops guess I said that too loud. I guess I will have to work on my math homework until they get home' I thought but didn't say.
As Mary left the room I pulled out my math homework and started working on it.
An hour later I was finished with my math homework and mom and dad were still at aunt Brooklyn's party yep we weren't aloud to go. But while waiting I decided to climb into bed and have a well needed nap.
"Ann, Ann wake up! It's morning and something might be wrong!" Mary said as she flipped the light on.
Still sleepy, I sat up, wiping the sleep from my eyes I processed what she said.
"What kind of somethings wrong?" I asked.
"Mom and dad didn't come home last night! That's why I'm the one waking you up! Now I've been stress cooking so breakfast is almost ready." Mary backed
