Chapter 6

Anna starts to feel his arms, then his chest. Tanner calmly inhales as his arms and chest feel slightly more muscular than usual.

Anna- You feel more muscular than usual babe.

She gently turns him and feels his back.

Tanner- I do work out.

His back feels a bit more muscular as well. Anna gently turns him back around.

Anna- I know, but you weren't this muscular yesterday.

Tanner- I woke up early and worked out.

Anna- Aight, come on then. We're going back to my place so I can look at this better.

She starts to walk to the front door.

Tanner- But wait, Jameson said he needed us to come in and talk about last night.

Anna- Jameson can wait. Besides, our shifts don't start til 4:30 babe. It's 3:10. we have enough time for this.

Tanner- Aight.

He starts to walk to the front foor with her. She takes his hand and leads him to her house. As Anna and Tanner walk back to her house so she can examine him, Tanner kept talking to the voice in his head, except some of his conversation was out loud.

Tanner- Don't worry, nothing's wrong.

Anna looks at him.

Anna- What?

Tanner looks at her.

Tanner- Oh nothing. Just talking to myself.

Anna- I think you're going crazy babe.

Tanner- How so babe?

Anna- Cause nobody just talks to themselves in public.

Tanner- Really? What about Peter?

Anna- He doesn't talk to himself babe.

Tanner- Froom the time we've been around him, he has.

Anna- Really? I've never noticed.

Tanner- We-

He stops himself.

Tanner- I mean, I have. He's talked to himself quite a few times in pubic that I've noticed.

Anna- Probably cause he's weird as fuck.

Tanner and Anna walk up the steps to her front door.

Tanner- That could be it, or he's hiding something.

Anna unlocks her door and opens it.

Anna- Such as?

Tanner- I'm not sure actually. It could be worth finding out.

Anna rolls her eyes and pulls him into her house.

Anna- Come on you, let's go to my room so I can examine you better.

He lets himself be pulled.

Tanner- Weeeee. Okay baby.

She takes him to her room and shuts and locks the door.

Anna- There. Now nobody can come in.

Tanner- Aight. So how are you gonna examine me?

Anna- Shirt off first

Tanner- Bescuse?

He tilts his head.

Anna- You heard me, take your shirt off.

Tanner shrugs and takes his shirt off. Anna sees how muscular he is and blushes a little.

Anna- I think you need to take a look in the mirror babe.

Tanner- Hmm?

She points to the full body mirror on the back of her door.

Anna- Look at yourself in the mirror babe.

Tanner- Okay

He walks over to the mirror.

Tanner- Well, I may have gotten a bit muscular.

Anna- A bit?

She snorts.

Anna- You went from skinny as fuck to muscualr in a day. If all you're doing is working out, then this shouldn't happen in just one day.

Tanner- So did Peter

Anna- I'm pretty sure he's stil skinny as fuck.

Tanner- But he's somehow a bit muscular, but I admit this is kinda strange.

Anna- Did anything strange happen yesterday?

Tanner- Not really. I mean, I did investigate that meteor with Eddie when you and Peter went to the library.

Anna- You didn't get irradiated, did you?

Tanner- Nope. Nothing happened when the meteor hit. I feel fine.

Anna- No voices in your head or anything?

Tanner, as innocently as possible- Nup

Anna walks over to him and wraps her arms around him from behind.

Anna- You know you can tell me if something happened yesterday, right?

Tanner sighs.

Tanner- I know baby, but nothing really happened other than being saved by Silk and getting us pictures for the Bugle.

Anna- Are you sure? Cause something doesn't feel right about this.

Tanner- I'm sure baby. Such as?

Anna- I just get the feeling something happened last night and you just didn't know it.

Tanner- I get that feeling too

He looks at his phone.

Tanner- Oh shit baby, we gotta go. It's almost time for work.

Anna- Aight, put your shirt on and let's high tail it over there.

Tanner- Aight.

He quickly puts on his shirtlightning fast and is at the door.

Tanner- Ready?

Anna grabs her camera bag.

Anna- Yosh

Tanner- Aight- to the Bugle

He opens the door and begins to run to the Bugle. Anna starts to run after hi,.

Anna- Wait for meeeeee!

He slows down a bit.

Tanner- Am waiting for chuuuuuuu!

Anna runs up to him and jumps on his back.

Anna- Onward!

He holds her legs and starts to run to the Bugle. She holds on tight.

Anna- Weeeeeeee!

Tanner smiles. Within minutes, Tanner and Anna arrive at the Bugle.
