Detective Jay Halstead has managed to keep his secret hidden since he joined Intelligence but working with the best unit in the city, well it wasn't going to last forever.
It was almost one in the morning when Jay Halstead heard banging on his door. Grabbing his gun he walked carefully to the peephole in the door noticing nothing outside he was about to turn away until he heard a cry from outside. Opening the door he saw nobody with a child but a child, well a baby laying in a carseat who was crying murder. Seeing no other option but to bring the child indoors he finally took note of the letter laying on the baby. One inside the baby calmed down and fell asleep. Jay sat down a opened the letter
Dear Jay,
I am sure you are by now wondering whos child this is, if it wasn't obvious then it is yours. Her name is Morgan Bree Halstead and she is four months old. I found out once you left for your tour and to be honest I really didn't was it. So now that you are home you can keep it. I have signed away my rights. Take care of her or give her away I don't care. Also there is a DNA test in the envelope as I knew you wouldn't believe me. Goodbye.

As Jay read to the cold letter from his ex-girlfriend he looked at his new daughter, who was looking straight at him with big blue eyes and nothing but felt pure love. If Rebecca didn't want her then Jay would make sure she will never ever get a chance to come near his little girl again.
