ONE

"Days went by

F a s t

this week

I almost didn't realize

my friend leaving me

in the dust

It was strange

for many reasons

we have been friends forever

he didn't seem to have any other friends

and

he said he

HATED

popular kids".

I sigh

closing my small journal

I got from CVS

and looking out the window.

When did life get so complicated?

I thought to myself before jumping off the

window seat

and

g l i d i n g down-stairs.

Not realizing my parents were

nowhere to be seen.

Though I didn't mind since the thoughts of

food were already taking up enough

space in my mind.

My earbuds almost slipped off as I

dashed to the kitchen.

But that was fine.

Not like I could hear well anyway...

...right?

I shook the thoughts from my mind and

scrambled for a bagel.

Wanting to fill my stomach with the

bready goodness as quick as I could.

Suddenly I felt a loud

KNOCK

at my door.

Making me almost jump-

almost.

Dashing to the door

half a bagel in hand

I peered through the peep-hole

to see the one and only

Hwang Hyunjin

finally showing up.

I open the light brown colored door

seeing the face of a 5'6 male

and a slightly-smiling face

it was weird.

Since he had been avoiding me for

the week.

Hello

He signed, giving me a small wave

as to say

I'm sorry for avoiding you

Though I knew he didn't mean that.

Hi Hyunjin.

I replied, pausing nervously before continuing

How has your week been?

Hyunjin gulped,

almost as if he knew

that he had been

avoiding me.

Pretty good.

He acted as if

nothing was wrong,

but we both knew

something was definitely

w r o n g.

I smiled, trying to

loosen any tension arising.

We ended just playing
