School is finally back in at Elgin High School and the kids are buzzing with joy!
As I am walking into my classroom I see a student already getting bullied! So I put my items down and go over to the scene and I ask "What is going on here!" I look at Rufus who is the bully and he says "None of your business old man!" I am amazed at what disrespect this kid has for his elders! As I look at the other kid named Goofy and I say to him "Are you okay?" As he looks at me he says "Yes Mr. Franco, thanks for asking." As I look over to talk to Rufus he is flipping me off! I then say to him in a rough voice "Come with me Mr. Rufus!"
As we are walking down the hallway he says "I am sorry for the way I acted, things at home haven't been good." As I look at him I am studying his figure. He is tall with blue eyes and brown hair and has a weird stride to his walk. His walk is a certain walk that reminds me of the way my brother walks.
We then enter into the front office at the school and Rufus says "Do I have to go talk to the principal?" I then say "No bud I want you to call your dad and tell him what you did." So Rufus picks up the office phone and dials his dad's number.
Rufus puts the phone on speaker so I can hear the conversation. A soft voice comes over the speaker and says "Is Rufus already causing trouble?" Rufus then says "Dad it's me Rufus. I need to tell you something." David then says "Go ahead son. What do you want to tell me?" He then respond with a hesitant attitude and says "I... kind of.. no I was disrespectful to Mr. Franco." David then responds in a curious voice and says "What exactly did you do to Mr. Franco that was disrespectful?" Rufus then says very quietly "I flipped him off and before that I said to him none of your business old man." After Rufus said that I expected to hear yelling and cussing but all I heard was soft talking that said "We will talk about this when you get home." Rufus then says "Bye dad love you" but no response came out of the speaker. Rufus and I both hear a beep and we look at each other and I can see in his eyes that he is terrified to go home.
He then says "Well I am off to Biology. Bye Uncle Will." I then say with a smile "It's Mr. Franco during school Mr. Rufus." Rufus then snickers and walks out of the office.
