The next time I woke up, I wasn't greeted by the beautiful blue sky, but by darkness. I'm completely encased in an obsidian room, and the only light source is coming from outside the iron door. The light is faint, only coming through the four spaces at the top, but it was enough to make me stand up.
Remembering what happened before I blacked out, I pressed a hand to my left shoulder. The arrow is not there, the pain isn't there either. And the best thing is, I'm not dead.
I knocked on the door, my heart pounding in fright. "H-Hello? Anybody out there?" The sound of my knocking is echoing. It sounds like I'm alone in a huge hall. I can't hear anything else, and my heartbeat is getting louder by the second. I'm starting to get frantic because of the fact that I'm alone. I slapped my hand on the door, pounding harder and harder. "HELLO? ANYBODY OUT THERE?! PLEASE LET ME OUT!"
There's nothing behind the door other than a single torch hanging from a fence block at the center of the ceiling. It's faint, it's not lighting up the floor so I can't see it. I looked around my cell. I don't know how big it is because of the darkness, but I despise the idea of being here, alone. "PLEASE! ANYONE!" I screamed. The tears on my cheeks are continuous. My whole body is shaking. "HELP ME!"
——I don't know if it's night or day. I don't know if I'm supposed to be asleep or not. I don't even know where I am. All I know is that it's been so long since I've seen the sun, and it's been so long since I've heard another person's voice. My throat is horse, so I can barely speak, let alone breathe.
I'm sitting on the cold, rough ground. I have nothing else to do.
I was just overthinking my existence, minding my own business, when suddenly, a clicking sound came from outside my door. I stood right up and pushed my arms through the little holes on the door. I tried screaming for help, but then I remembered I didn't have a voice, so I pounded on the door instead.
I can hear footsteps. . . A lot of them. Even though I was so pumped to finally see someone, I immediately shrunk back down when they came into view. I crawled backwards until the wall was against my back. When they opened the door, I shrunk back even more.
They loo. . . Intimidating. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I can only see their silhouettes, but something blue shone in their hands.
Something long. . . And sharp.
Swords.
"We'll make this quick," the woman spoke. Her voice is as angelic as it was before, but it held the same terrifying tone she used yesterday. The man stepped into the room and grabbed my arm. I didn't fight back and let him force me to stand on my feet. He then ominously walked behind me. "We'll ask you a question, and you'll answer. Okay?"
My breath hitched when I felt something cold on my nape. "O-okay." I whispered hoarsely.
Suddenly, the woman held up her hand. A torch appeared, revealing the empty space between our faces. She bent down, making sure our eyes were leveled before speaking up. "Where did you come from?"
I stared at her porcelain skin and beautiful green eyes. She looked like a goddess incarnated. She looks like a living doll with her long lashes, plump, pink lips and bright orange, almost golden, hair. The sword on my neck pressed harder. I gulped. "When I woke up, I-I was laying o-on the ground, and—"
"Specifically," she hissed, pushing the torch right in front of my eyes. Although I couldn't feel the fire's heat, the sword against my nape became ten times colder. "Before you came here."
"Before. . .?" I coughed once, shaking my head. My throat is so dry. "I'm from Calli."
"What is that?" She asked.
