Tale of the Phantom Cab: yay
The very first episode of the series and the first story told by Frank because it's where he's about to be initiated in the Midnight Society. The episode focuses on 2 siblings, Danny and Buzz, lost in the woods. They meet a seemingly friendly taxi cab driver named Flynn and the villainous, reoccuring character, Dr Vink [2nd pic] [with a vuh vuh vuh] who will not let the siblings use the telephone unless they solve his riddle.
Even though the acting is horrible when it came to the siblings, it added to the charm of the episodes. It is one of the rare instances where horrible acting made something better, like the movie "The Room" with Tommy Wiseau. That's why I give this tale a yay. I also give it a yay because later on in the series, Dr Vink comes back in most of Frank's stories. The only ones that don't feature Dr Vink are "Full Moon" and "Train Magic".
Tale of Laughing in the Dark: yay
